my friend with a gsl-se lives there, hates it, come move to tyler tx, its a great little place. not too far from dallas or anything.... cost of living is cheap, jobs pay well and its a fairly wealthy little town.
a decent rx7 community and a good overall car scene full ofr fast cars.

you going to corpus christi? what did you want to know exactly?
its halfway beentween houston and mexico on the gulf coast.
the texas aquarium is about 15-30mins north of the main city.
there is a us aircraft carrier next to the museum you can tour.
has small litlte malls.
its an small town, but cleaner than san antonio.
you can go fishing, the beaches are decent, slightly tinted due to the low rise gulf of mexico... better than japan, but if you go south 3 hours they are crystal clear and can do diving or other beach activities.

The cost of living in Corpus is about half of what it would be in the trendy north San Francisco Bay area. $500,000 will get you into a very nice 4,500 sq. ft. house with a pool and most importantly a three car garage.

The Porsche club has a very active chapter, I have travel down there to some of their events when it's not too hot.

Keep in mind that you are only a couple of hours from Houston or San Antonio so your wife can always make a weekend trip and spend lots of money.
As far as Corpus being cleaner than San Antonio I don't think so. Corpus has an ever expanding refinery and chemical processing industry. My guess is that if it weren't for the prevailing gulf winds the air be pretty bad.
