Body Shop Recommendation - Houston
Does anyone have any recommendations?
I have heard positive things about Kleb Auto in Spring.
I have heard relatively positive things about River Oaks Paint and Body.
Does anyone know of excellent shops in the Houston area? Need extensive body work and it will be covered by insurance, so it needs to be done right. Is there a go-to location for custom work or high end sports cars?
Thank you for your help.
Stephen

It is a red FD. I'm hoping all damage is cosmetic and there isn't any damage that will linger after the repair (bent frame, etc.). The plan is to get it fixed right and hang on to it for a long time.
Ajehr -- have you used this bodyshop? I will look in to it. As insurance is covering the repairs I am definitely not looking for a cheap shop -- I just want the job done right.
Thanks for the input.

When I lived in Pearland 8 years ago, I had work done on my wife's car (multiple times for different reasons) and a full repaint on my truck at International Paint and Body. I was very pleased with their work. The work was covered by insurance, but I always saw custom cars in the shop.

If I had to have my FD worked on today, I would first check with the guys at Motorsport Ranch Houston outside of Angleton. I believe their members use a shop near Angleton when they get their race cars painted. If that did not pan out, I'd go back to International.

After checking out many leads, I decided on Master Autobody and Upholstery.
Great reviews, good BBB history, been around 30+ years. But mostly was the quality of the work I saw when I visited: currently doing several frame-off restorations on high-end muscle cars, very clean STI getting fixed up, Porsche (GT3?) with a deep brown metal flake paint was being partially repainted (and the owner was a repeat customer). Not to mention numerous MB / BMW sedans in for various bodywork.
I will bump this thread when my repairs are complete with a more thorough review.

Overall I am very pleased with the work they did. Noticed a few chips by the tail lights recently that didn't notice until now... looks like the paint was nicked when still soft while reassembling. They have been very helpful up until now and I expect they will take care of it for free or very cheap.
Having said that, they are not cheap but I was very happy with their work. If you go by there or call, ask to speak to Victor and tell him Stephen with the red RX7 recommended you. He's a good dude.
Hope to make it to the meet next Tuesday if you would like to check it out.

Ugh, not a good update. I've noticed what appears to be tiny bubbles that has formed in a few locations over the past few weeks. They were definitely not there when the car was taken from the shop (you can literally feel them with your hand), they are forming as time passes. Scouring the internet terms up "solvent popping" which definitely looks to be the case. I am taking the car back to the body shop for their inspection this Saturday, will post back with their response... Looks like best case scenario the car will need an entire paintjob and the bodyshop doesn't fight with me over it and does it for no extra cost. Sheesh...
