I have a 95 Jimmy that I have a bad feeling the tranny is shot in.

It has lost 3/4 gear.

I talked to a recommened shop in Lewisville (A1 Trans King) and they said if it needs one it would be 1300 with a 24 month / 12k mile warrenty.

Just wondering if you guys could recommend a shop that isnt to far from Lewisville. The truck tops out at 40mph. So, highway driving is a lil sketch.

Grapevine Automatic, I know the owner, and he stores my friends race cars (Miata's) and trailer. They have a good rep.

 

if you were in Austin I'd recommend Ike's, they did my S10 when I had it and that thing came out great, they even added a small stall into it and an upgraded shift kit. It would actually snap my neck back a bit and it was just a 2.2L 4 lol

 

Doh, thanks for the advice though. The truck is sitting in the tranny shop now. I will get back if this shop is any good. They are in good standing with the BBB. So, that is a good sign.

I bought a tranny temp gauge...this fluid is not going to over heat this time
