TX 2013 Texas Statewide Mazda Meet in Houston area

Hey guys, this is one of my first posts on here. I don't own an RX7, but man would I love to. Regardless of that fact, I am a Mazda enthusiast. I am part of a club in Houston, TX. by the name of Project M. We are trying to organize a Texas Statewide Mazda Meet in the Houston area. We would love to have the participation of any - and all - RX7 owners in the Southern part of the US. You don't have to be a Texan to take part. I want to post up some information about what we have together so far. Nothing is set in stone, so please feel free to suggest anything, or ask questions about what we have.

A few of us from Project M and the old Houston Mazda Crew got together to throw around ideas that we had for the 2013 Statewide Meet. Here is what we came up with:

Dates: 5/24 - 5/26
Location: Houston, duh!!!!

5/24
Meet n Greet/Car show-off
Southwell's Burgers 1909 Taylor Street, Houston, Texas 77007
I figure that if we say 8PM - ??? that is should give people ample enough time to come in from the Austin/SA/DFW areas without having to leave too early from work or home. It is right around the downtown area of Houston, so it is pretty centralized. From there, I am pretty sure that people will be kind of tired from the week and a bit of driving. Any one of us from Houston would be happy to help you to find the best way to your hotels. We have taken the liberty of suggesting a few, but I am sure that Orbits, or any such site, would help you to find a great deal as well.

5/25
Galveston Cruise
Rendezvous point: Southwell's Burgers 1909 Taylor Street, Houston, Texas 77007 @ 10AM
We cruise to Galveston, Tx. to enjoy a - hopefully - good day at the beach and have ample opportunities for Photo opps, cruising, swimming and other such stuff. We will rendezvous again at a given point, which we shall disclose later on, and cruise on back to Houston around 3/4PM. We shall break for our respective homes/rooms to chill and rest till 8PM when we shall meet up again and find out who the best drivers really are. We are hitting up Houston Grand Prix.

Houston Grand Prix

13901 Eastex Freeway

Houston, TX 77032

Group Rate Daytona Package $150

30 super car rides & 70 Tokens

Single ride $6

5/26
All Team Bash Extravaganza

Fort Bend County Fairgrounds

4310 Texas 36 Rosenberg, TX 77471

All Team Bash is a huge meet with the majority, if not all, the teams throughout the Houston area. We would love to have all of you all with us to show some of our Mazda Unity. To say the least, the Houston scene is dominated by almost every make - except Mazda. We, with Project M, would love to show the rest just how great Mazda enthusiasts make their cars look and perform. Here is the Facebook page. Please look at the pictures and see what it has been in the past. . . http://www.facebook.com/myallteambash.

Stay tuned for further info. Post questions and comments so we know where we can help out.

As previously stated, this is one of my first posts, so please allow me ample time to respond to your question. If you want/require a quicker response, you can go to mazdas 2 4 7 dot com, and look under the team section of the "Forums" tab, and look for the Project M link. There you will find the 2013 Texas Statewide Meet thread.

I hope to see some of you there. We all love RX7's and would love to see some up close and personal.

As long as I'm not in school I can probably make it, got some family down there so would give me a reason to drive from Fort Worth.

Found the other thread, looks like plans have totally changed for Friday and Saturday (no more G-town). Will let OP come on and provide a full update.

I'd like to join in as well.

I will post more info about this as soon as we have it. All Team Bash is one of the biggest events in the Houston area. If you have never been it's a great way to experience the scene. Every team in Houston will be in attendance from imports to domestics. There will be team activities for us to participate in like tug of war and sack races. We will be cooking, most likely just burgers and hotdogs.

I will need a headcount and a minimum $5 donation per person for food. Please paypal the money to cysabfly@yahoo.com along with your forum name. Shirts and stickers are still in the works. I will post that information at a later date.

Please let me know if there are any questions. I will also add the specifics to the google calendar. Thanks
guys!!!!!

Sounds like fun, I'm still up in the air since I have family. I'm sure the wife wants a little vacation though, as long as nothing comes up.
