Won't start when hot
87 Turbo II starts well when cold. Mechanic says it has a "good used turbo" with no leaks. It has 95,000 miles on it.
It takes vigorous pumping of the accelerator and 4-5 tries to start it when it is hot. If the idle is kept up a minute or two, it runs fine after that. It has some pep, but doesn't seem a quick as it should be.
Compression testing was normal, and it doesn't use much oil. The catalytic converter was clogged, but isn't now.
Any things I can tell the mechanic about these problems? Any good Rx7 places in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area? Thanks

When I first got my FC, it wouldn't start after running it for a few minutes.
Turns out the previous owner had the trailing plugs hooked up in the leading and vice versa. It's a long shot, but check your spark plugs for the correct order, as well as any kind of obvious signs of detonation damage to the plugs.

compression.....
i had a stuck side seal and it never fired up hot.
loose plugs can be a problem, but if you are loosing that little comp through the plugs and it wont start i would consider a compression test and see were you are.
cheers
