why in the world did i hit 1.1kg/cm2???
alright, i was on my way home from work today and decided to hammer it. . . though not at WOT. i hit 1.1 on the commander and its set to .80. what in the world is that. i have a to4e xs kit. when i tested the wastegate (hks) it didnt open fully till 23psi!!! i figured i messed up the test or the wastegate only works correctly when exhaust was passing by it. the latter didnt make sense to me as the actuator reads what the manifold pressure is and reacts to that. am i not right? i dont know why in the world my wastegate would come with a damn 23psi spring!!!!! i really dont wanna take this damn thing apart again. any clues?

how are you using the PFC to control boost ? you have the boost control kit ? my guess would be you hooked up the vacuum hoses incorrectly. i have a greddy kit and blitz sbc-id it holds boost down to 9psi

Either:
Your wastegate is fucked up. How many miles are on it?
your boost guage is inaccurate
you desperately need a boot controller or tuning or both
how many miles are on the turbo kit? Last time my wastegate failed it was because the valve stem came loose from the inside of the wastegate. XS says that this is a common problem for all wastegates

Retest that damn wg or your car will try to boost to 23 psi minimum at WOT.
Use a pump or air tank to slowly pressure up the lower tap on the wg(upper tap vented) and measure the pressure with a gage. Even testing the wg on the car, it will make a noticeable sound when it starts to open and you will likely find that it starts to leak down at the same time giving you another indication of when it opens. I do this whenever changing wg springs with the wg installed on the mani. Wanna make sure it's right and not hung closed for some odd reason.
Good luck.

my turbo kit is brand new. i tested it on "the bench" hooked a gauge to it and pressurized it. 23. . . thats what i got. im really not looking forward to having to take that damned thing off!!!! damnit. the boost reading was on the pfc. . . i doubt its wrong. both gauges read high.
whats really cool is that i just plugged my msd box in and the knock readings are quite higher than they were before. . . and they were already annoying. steve kan has a tuning session in wisconsin in august. im gonna try to make it till then.
