WH1E or T70??
I've looked up and down this section of the forum reading hours upon hours of posts, which has shown me that both the H1E and the T70 can get me over 400 rwhp, but I have more questions:
I heard the T70s can be had for around $500-$600 depending on where you find them. I watched Karack of Rotary Evolution test a car out with a smaller .6X I think hotside at the request of the customer, which he found was WAY too small and found that a .9X I think hotside worked best on these turbos.
-Anyways this looks like a pretty good/cheap candidate to run on my car, but I want to see how it stacks up against the Holsets.
There isn't much info on Holset on the forums here other than the guys running the HX55 and such, which is WAY too much for what I want. I was looking into the H1E or HX40.

^How does this look for a rotary application on an average streetported motor? I figured I'd offer the guy $500-$600 for the turbo. I remember someone saying the 19 cm housing was a bit small so he upgraded to a 22 cm, but I think he was running a bridgeported motor...
So basically I'm asking: what would be the better turbo with more possible potential for power or quicker spool times.

Holset is usually a good quality turbo but I don't have any first hand experience with them. The t70 on the other hand will be good for over 400 however your pricing is a little off unless you are talking about a masterpower turbo which is a decent turbo but most on this forum will tell you it's crap compared to the larger name bands like garrett, turbonetics, precision, etc... I just checked out a turbonetics t70 non ball bearing turbo and it was around 900-1000 bucks. Ahh here it is right here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Turbo...Q5fAccessories
Right now my car is at the shop being tuned but I'll post dyno results when it gets dyno'd in the near future. I don't think we have any good dyno numbers from a t70 so it should be nice posting what a masterpower t70 turbo can do at 25psi. I'll also keep the club up to date on how long the turbo and manifold (ssautocrap) last

^Yeah I was wondering about manifolds too...my SSAC on my BNR setup got fine cracks, but in the end I felt my top end start to suffer so I ditched it and went back to stock
And yes I was talkin about MasterPower lol a few of my friends run it, but are only at 16 psi right now.

If anything just go with a proven hks or greedy manifold. It will be a bit more expensive but you know it will last. I've heard mixed results about the master power t70 units but a couple of guys on here have really put down some power using that turbo and the unit also past the test of time. I have also looked on the mustang site and supra site and noticed mixed reviews there. Some say the turbo is great, spools quick, makes good power, and has lasted a long time. Then others say they've had it for six months and the thing crapped out. I do have to say though that most of the data I've seen is good results but with little test time (6-8 months or less).
The only thing that sucks for me is that if the manifold cracks, no biggy I'll just pick up an hks or greedy and make an adapter for my TiAl wastegate however if I'm not happy with the turbo due to premature failure than I'm kind of stuck because kilo is tuning it with a master power t70 which is not the same size as a turbonetics t70 so I won't be able to just switch out the mpt70 for the turbonetics t70 without getting it retuned. Just something to think about and may not be an issue if you tune yourself or if your tuner is close. Kilo is about 16 hours from me so that trip gets pretty expensive.

no personal experience with a holset in an aftermarket application, but my friend's H1C on his 88 Ram is still running strong after 150k. They are OEM grade turbos designed to run high boost on factory vehicles. For long term reliability I would trust a good condition H1C more than I would the MasterPower t70's and other 2nd tier non-ebay turbos.

im running the holset WH1E on my car and love it, mostly because it has a 4in vband turbine housing, but since its internal wastegated i welded the door shut ran an external WG. fitment was a little tough because the turbine is so big, but with a little wrestling she fit in there.
