You will not be disappointed. In my opinion, putting in a tank to put ice in to be able to intercool your air is a band aid and should never be done on anything that gets driven on the street, even if just a little. If your system has the right combination of heat exchanger capacity, intercooler capacity and water flow you should reach steady state operation at something slightly above ambient air temperature just like a front mount with the exception that while you are stopped your overall system temps will actually go down because the water keeps flowing through the intercooler and heat exchanger even as you sit at a stoplight. If your system needs you to put ice in it to make it adequate it buys you a little operating time where its ok but as soon as it melts the system temperature will keep rising.

Kit came in, looks nice except the wrong Heat Exchanger . I ordered the 26x7 one but got a 14x14 one.

I also had a upper and lower aeromotive startlite -20 hose assembly made. Well, it's f'd up too. They didn't give me swivel fittings so now I'm stuck with $400 in rad hoses that I can't use. Not sure what to do... had to vent

Chris, where did you get the coil for your hose? The one that keeps it from kinking around corners..

ahhh...you have good eyesight sir....haha

Actually that is the only "sponsored" part of my car .

A friend of mine works at Autozone and they sell it and he brought one in for me...I don't know if its necessary but it doesn't hurt anything and it was a nice thought so I installed it.

Yeah, I need that. I have a few sharp bends that I need to make. I have a hose running in the upper fender well You running 3/4" hose?

Man, that exchanger is heavy duty isn't it!

What should I ask for, I'd hate to get up there and be stuck with some punk...

Yes I have 3/4 hose and yes the exchanger is heavy duty.

As for what to ask for, I have no idea, my friend brought it over to my house I never asked for it. I know they are coils to prevent hose collapse and if I am not mistaken they sell them from behind the counter. I can ask my friend if he knows what its called if you want.

I mounted the exchanger behind/under the front bumper bar with the little flanges the heat exchanger brought.

Im using a bosch pump, second gen oil cooler for heat exchanger pwr Innercooler and a moroso cool can. Im using air to air also. The water to air does the initial cooling and is switched on as needed the air to air is for normal everyday usage.

I have a PWR 6 x 10 kit that ill have on my car in a few weeks (after I sort out other issues) with heat exchanger mounted in the nose of my FC. Ill let everyone know how THAT goes. This will be a street car and if the i/c works out maybe ill take it to Road Atlanta and see how she does there after a couple of laps.

Thats a lagit setup. I was going to do mine like this but i want my IC piping short so i hust went with a diffrenet setup. using a cooler from frozenboost.com

Alright, I got my kit entirely installed.

ChrisRX8PR,

On the inline filler, that nipple on there. Is it necessary to have that running to a overflow?

I'm pretty sure it says on the site that you can just cap that nipple, as long as it can stand the pressure, and you have an overflow hooked up to the nipple on the heat exchanger. If it's threaded I would just thread a plug in there instead.

I was wondering how important it is to run the system pressurized? For the cooling system on a car, it's pressurized to stop it from boiling. it hits full temp pretty quickly, so makes pressure quickly. but in this type of system, it should never get really that hot anyways right?

I don't have a nipple on heat exchanger, just one on the inline filler.

I just wouldn't think that a vent would be needed in this case. Honestly, how hot can the liquid get?

I could be wrong, though. I don't know much...

That's what I was thinking. what's the cap rated for anyways, 15 psi? I would just run a line vented to somewhere. I could never see it touching any kinda pressure like that. Plus, if the pressure got up there, that motor probably couldn't handle it.

My air to water kit came in today. Looks good. I went with the Type 19 intercooler from frozen boost. After I install it, I will post some pics. It's got to be better then the stock top mount.

Don't cap it, they do build up enough pressure to burp a little water out. If there is no air in they system ANY expansion will need to be vented or things will get out of hand real quick!
