Wastegate recirc tube seriously choking system

Getting my FD tuned finally next week and Im doing the last few things for prep. Took it to a friends local muffler shop to have the dump tube put in. I bought the car with the 50mm Apexi wastegate and the setup using a 2inch recirc at almost a 90 degree bend. When the tube was cut off from the exhaust, the hole going into the exhaust was only an inch in diameter! (maybe the size of a quarter)

What could this have been doing? The last time I had it dynoed it blew up. It broke up real bad at the top and dumped fuel.

On a side note the 2inch dump sounds nasty badass. Ive got my profec B all the way down while I wait for the tune, but I think it will be awesome.

70mm BB garrett turbo
Streetport
APexi FM intercooler
Microtech LT10
TII coils
etc...

What it could have done is ruined your boost control.

"it blew up" is not enough information. How much boost was it making, what led up to the failure?

The guy tuning it got up to 20psi. He upped the boost instead of fixing the fuel maps while tuning (found out at the end he was doing this) Lost compression on the dyno.

I saw that kid in your avatar yesterday at a race!

Haha... I have Gaby Skern next week and he is supposed to be really good.

I asked the guy what was up quite a few times... Then he he leaned it out at the end and no more runs. He was supposed to be good.

I suspect something else might have been wrong. My fuel pressure was up around 50 psi so I think thats part of it, but he should have stopped before anything happened.

I just put the video on the computer and tonight I will post it.

It looks like a tractor pull theres so much black smoke.

I agree that your 'tuner' belongs behind the counter at mcdonalds.

50 psi fuel pressure is ok for 10 psi boost pressure, at 20 psi boost pressure it's deadly, as you found out the hard way.

Those injectors are good and run 30psi base pressure. Dont understand why so man y people run stupidly high fuel pressures. You run the pumps out of their efficiency range.

I just left it how it was when I got it... Do you think that this had something to do with my other comments you had read?

I was searching because the pressure sits at 50 psi and does not move even under full load on the dyno. Im in the video showing my hand to the tuner with a five for fifty psi. I will post it soon. I just asked my roomate.

The battery was a temp fix for my gel battery that I had in there. It gave out and stopped charging. So please ignore it...

well, if you want a more efficient recirc, you're going to have to drop some bones on some custom work most likely. unless there is a downpipe that will fit properly to your setup.

I just had the dump put in... 2 inch right behind the passenger tire.
