Using GT-37 parts in hybrid turbo? Turbo rebuilders insight needed.

So I have a GT37 VGT from a Ford 6.0 liter Powerstroke laying around. I took it apart saw the CHRA is actually pretty small and thought, perhaps it could be used in a hybrid build-up.

My current hybrid is a BNR Stage 4 based off a '89 TII turbo w/ clipped "P" trim exhaust wheel and T04B 60-1 compressor.

BNR stage 4
exhaust major dia = 2.922"
minor = 2.544"
compressor major = 3.00"
minor = 2.324"

GT37
exhaust major dia = 2.854"
minor = 2.614"
compressor major = 3.228"
minor = 2.327"

So, I would have to rebore the exhaust housing. I was hoping the squater and more free flowing GTQ exhaust wheel might help the over speeding problem the current turbo has; afterall Bryans advice for solving the overspeeding was to take some off the "P" trim wheels major diameter.

The GT37 GTQ shaft journal bearing OD is .7", is that same as T4 shaft?

What other hurdles would I encounter?

-edit- can't spell

You're a fabricator, build a turbo from scratch to your own specs Seriously, clipping any wheel will lead to a signifigant decrease in efficiency(according to Garrett). A plain bearing GT turbo is not very expensive(GTQ wheel), are you bent on the stock housing/manifold? I think you should cut loose, and do a proper single. Your hybrid is a work of art(seriously, I've seen all the pics, very nice work), but an off the shelf 600.00 turbo will blow it away. How do you feel now??? Sell it to some other misguided purist, and make more power with lower IATs. I know that appeals to you, do it, come to the dark side

Thanks for the reply Carl,

That is the same thing Bryan at BNR said. Basically, the stock exhaust housing is too small for my application. Time to step up to full T04. If I want to use the GT parts I have, why not adapt them to a T4 frame where they can perform to their full potential.

I know that you guy are correct and I am not sure why I am hell bent on polishing a turd (working w/ stock hybrid). Must be pride F*&%ing with me .

I am up in the Northern Humboldt area. I don't actually have any connections to our areas main export- the Emerald Triangle Rotary name just worked.
