Turbo need reclocking?
My GT40R is blowing a little oil out of the back of it and I am wondering if it is because the oil feed and return are in about a 10 & 4 position. Shouldn't they be in a 12 & 6 position? Vertical. Could them being in a 10 & 4 cause oil to back up in the turbo? Please help, I am trying this last step before sending this new unit back to Garrett. It does have a restrictor fitting in place. Thanks

Not more than 5 degrees off the vertical for the oil drain. The oil feed is just along for the ride...since its pressurized, it is moot.
I hope you're not using the rubber hose for the oil drain.
Who did you purchase the kit from? If it doesn't have an oil restrictor and you've had oil pressure mods done to the car, you will need a restrictor. No mods, no restrictor would probably work.
Oil drain needs to be kink free, as big a braided hose you can get down there, and a smooth path to the oil drain. AN-10 or even better AN-12. The first 6 inches down off the turbo should be as straight down as possible. Blockage here will push oil into and out turbine discharge and into the exhaust.
Depending on porting on your engine, the specs on the turbo, and tuning you should have 18psi at ~4200rpm. Higher if you can tune for it.

-12 would be cool, but you'd have to do some machining to the front cover to get it to work properly. fd drains are small. (obviously, there were 2 of them stock)

You need to maintain an I.D. of 5/8 inch for oil drain/return line. You can do this with -10 metal fittings and -12 line. -10 line will not fit onto -10 fittings; -10 line is too small for -10 fittings.
Stock turbo unit has two 5/8 inch I.D. drain lines b/c it has two independent turbos - not b/c the two oil drain lines are "undersized".

I stand corrected; the o.d. of the thin wall tubing of the factory oil drain is 5/8" which obviously renders the i.d slighty smaller. Because -AN sizing is all about O.D. of hard metal line, mr2foryou still benefits by fabricating his oil drain using a minimum of 5/8" I.D. as a lesser -AN size will not only not fit, but will not afford the oil drain flow required of his turbo.
