Turbo charging 1985 12a rotary
I need somebody that knows what they're doing! Give me the meat and veg on how this is done. So far I have found that it can be done but what do I do with the exhaust manifold for it to be able to accept a turbo unit.

Turbo charging a 12a is easy, accompishing goals is much more difficult. The turbo you need for a 9 sec drag car is much different than a turbo that you would need for..say auto-crossing.
With a 12a you have to create an exhaust manifold and exhaust system. Then you have to address intercooling and then fuel delivery. There are a lot of very expensive opptions ( fuel computer and throtle bodie injection) and not so expensive options (blow through carb).
The less expensive way to turbo charge your 1980 Rx-7 is to swap in a turbo motor. You can get a turbo motor from Corksport, FC3S.org and many other places from about $800-$1300 plus shipping. Now that seem like a lot,but go compare how much just an inake manifold, throtle body, and fuel injectors cost.
As far as turbos you can find them at cheapturbos.com and turbonetics.com , but keep in mind there are many more cost's associated with turbocharger than just the turbo it self.

12A Turbo
I have a 12A motor that have street ported and have just purchased a new Autronic SMC2 computer, Cartech turbo system w/injectors. I have just ordered a custom GT-62 for the car. I have already spent approx. $12,000.00 in the last 2 months and have spent approx. $10,000 setting the car up with trans, diff, guages labor etc. I should have approx. 400 plus rwhp @10-12psi. If your willing to spend that type of money it can be done.
