turbos do not require break in.
they do require pre-oiling. pull your fuel and ignition fuses and crank the motor over til you see oil pressure.... crank it over a little more.
you are good to go.

A bearing is a bearing...they all need a bit of break in. My proceedure by way of CLR's recommendations is to disable the ignition, turn the car over in 20 second intervals until oil pressure starts to show on the car's gauge. Leave the turbo's oil feed line loose or have a friend point it into a bottle. Once oil starts to flow out the feed line, connect it back up. Keep the turbo from spinning by using a socket/breaker bar or wratchet over the compressor's nut. Mine was 15mm. Start the car. Once the oil line gets hot, pull off the socket and let the turbo spin up. It'll start to do so slowly and then speed up. After that, I'd give it at least a hundred miles of gentle break in. Don't go pushing 100K rpm and large amounts of boost! I'm assuming you're going to have to retune anyway. You could also call the turbo's manufacturer and see what they recommend for a break in period.
