Too much Turbo?
I have a buddy with a 700hp Lightning...his Turbo went bad and he is going BIGGER.
I have the opportunity to buy his old turbo inexpensively which I was quoted $500 to be rebuilt.
I'm a few months away from my single build and I "only" want 450hp. Is this too much turbo for my needs (I'm guessing yes).
T76 Turbonetics
.96 A/R
t4 single entry
Ceramic Ball Bearing
"Big Shaft" Option
Polished compressor housing. (extra horzepowaz!)

Way too much. T04B V-trim, H-trim of 60-1. Turbine wheel no bigger than p-trim, pref stage 5 T3, turbine housing no bigger than 0.84 with a p-trim wheel, no bigger than 1.06 if a t3 size wheel.

I honestly would consider that recommendation on the small side for 400whp on a dynojet using pump fuel only.

H-trim and 60-1 with p trim and 0.84 will do it easy. You only need to check here for usa style 512rwhp (really about 400) being done around 19psi around 8000rpm with stock to mild ports and 1.06 gt35r's.

That large a turbo for your goals, especially with an un-divided T4 will be overkill, and probably more laggy than you'd like. A T4 ~0.84 A/R divided P-trim exhaust with a 60-1 or 35R compressor wheel will probably give you your best spool and enough flow for your power goal, at least in Canadian whp.
Here's one for sale that would meet your goals, and similarily priced: https://www.rx7club.com/race-parts-only-228/turbonetics-60-1-hifi-913847/

for that you can get a Gt35 from A-spec for around $800.... Which is a perfect size for 370...450.... I know its $300 more but at least your getting a brand new turbo with a warranty.

Appreciate the input guys! I've been voraciously reading the Single Turbo Faqs and existing threads...I now know more about flow, maps, etc. than I ever expected...which means on a scale of 1-10 I'm about a 1.5. I was 99.9% certain this was too much but I figured I'd ask the experts. I mean I personally know the guy and could just pick it up! =)
Thank you everyone for taking the time to provide your input.
