TO4R and the HKS version
I measured but the caliper was crazy ...even after I zero it. What is the difference from the Garrett TO4R and the Garrett HKS version?
69.30 mm/83.20mm??????? Go to known published sizes that are close?

I've heard that the compressors used by Cheapturbo and a "real" T04R are not identical and I wouldn't be surprised if the HKS and Garrett wheels weren't the same either. Law of transitivity anyone? It's more than just the measurements that make a compressor or turbine. Shape and blade count matter as well, things not easily quantifiable by calipers or visual inspection.

The only difference between the HKS to4R kit and the To4R turbo sold by reputable turbo shops is the turbine wheel. The HKS to4R turbo comes with clipped P trim turbine wheel. But HKS also sells the To4R without clipping. So basically, there isn't much difference.
I have used and worked on HKS T04R, HKS TO4Z, and Garrett TO4R. You can trust my words.

The To4Z is a ball bearing To4R but it does not really spool up that much faster. I think it's a waste of money. The Garrett T04R will be the best deal.

HKS uses Garrett designed turbos . But HKS has right to certain trims . Also HKS design turbos are for heavier flow . If you keeping boost below 1.5bar, you would be better off just getting a regular off the shelf Garrett turbo. where as if you are going over that the HKS turbos would be flowing better
And i agrees with rotary extreme about the T04Z . it is not really worth the extra ... T04R or Cutback version is better bang for your buck

I just installed T04R from PhoenixTurbo
The result is awesome. I've got both Road Race feel + High way feel. Very impressed with the turbo. Full Boost at 4K and it's the best bang for the buck.
I used to have Greddy T78 and XS Engineering T04E before and I think T04R compatable with 13B-REW the most, IMHO.
Give Eric or Ken a call at Cheapturbo.com
They will give you a good advise.

It's a very expensive way of going to a single turbo though!

Same as a PT67, Yes??? Wheel sizes are the same again. the 67 was basiclya response by garrett to Precisions request for the wheel. Before that, I don't think they were very easy to come by, now everyone offers it. There is also a GTQ, and a GTS version, each offers ~7% more flow than its predecessor, but with comensurate lag. Like threerotors said, the turbo is awesome, and very reasonable. t can be had divided, and water cooled as well. ITS makes a front cover for it that I am going to try. My .81 housing has some porting BTW.
