Mostin, what did you buy, and how much?
If you don't want to share the details I understand, PM me if you like..
I may be able to help you out if you are still thinking about buying a turbo..Max

Well the sport is back to being a happy sport, but Chris Forsberg of PA did came thru with the turbo I requested months ago, and not becuase what I posted earlier but it jus happened to be a coincedent that I got the turbo a few days after my bickering. He just got caught up in some misunderstanding with someone else and I get caugth in the middle, and took a good while for the situation to be resolved.

If you can weld how hard is it to make a manifold? I mean if you had all flanges(eng,t4,wg), and some appropriately sized mandrel bent tubing, why would it be all that hard to copy from pics of others?

Welding is one thing, knowing how to actually pipe fit is another, and getting the bends in the radius that you require is often difficult, some mandrel stuff only comes in long radius, so you can't get a tight 90 deg turn where you need it or your 45's are a mile long. Cutting odd angle turns out of 90's and 180's requires that you cut at a certain point on the inside and outside diameter of the turn to maintain the true arc of the bend, but alot of people including some of the fab shops have a tendency to cut the elbow face on the angle they require instead of cutting the degree turn out of the elbow, which means you end up with a stepped transition where the 2 pipes meet, i don't think that does much for flow..
If you use prefabbed 90's and 180's, Crane Grinnell and places like that have a booklet with the inside and outside measurements for cutting true odd angle turns, at the branch here, the books are free..Max

You can make your own manifold if you can weld. Just get some 90 deg and 45 deg 2" piping $3.95 and $2.95 respectively from king Supply located in texas and baltimore and the racing beat maniflold flange just $18.50. They even have the 1 1/2" pipes for the wastegate if needed. There is a race car in my area that uses the same set up and piping and it is doing 9's for many years lowest time was high 8's ("Problem child") orange starlet.
