I had the specs for the turbine wheels and the Y-2K but I lost it!
The Y-2K is in between the T-76 T-Series and T-88 Thumper in compressor performance but the Y-2K has a much better flowing turbine wheel to match the performance of the compressor.
I'm going to have a HKS T-51R Kai turbo available to me soon on loan from a friend so I can test it on the dyno to actually see the difference over the T-76 turbo. BTW. the T-51's compressor wheel has been upgraded to a T-76 wheel by Fastrax Turbo!
Now all I need is for someone to lend me their Mitsubishi T-88!

I heard someone say that Fastrax Turbo no longer exists, is this true?

Mitsubishi????

Chris, if you have a drag car, stay away from the mitsubishi stuff! Way too expensive! If somethine breaks, you are in a heep of debt! stay with Garrett, If you help me tune my cars, you'll have a real cheap, rotor spankin turbo on your car to bust in the 8's! I made the mistake of telling you The Q2 was bigger that the Q trim, sorry, it isn't. Just Designed to flow better. We'll do something other than a Q!
later,
Bryan

Is the Q2 the 10 balde Mar-M turbine wheel? If it is I tried one with bitter sweet results! It do spool and respond much faster than the regular turbine wheel but the exducer angle seem to hurt flow! Just by looking at it a 10deg clip would make a huge difference.
The Mitsubishi/Greddy T-88 is the only turbo I've seen in a small frame size with a HUGE TURBINE WHEEL!
Tommorow I'll see what's up with the HKS T-51R KAI.

Well I finally got my hands on the HKS T-51 turbo. It was what I thought it would have been and turned out to have no special or secret unavailable components. The turbine wheel was the Garrett 11 blade big shaft clipped Q-trim!
With that info the Mitsubishi T-88 turbine wheel is still the largest before you get into Y-2K and the Thumper series frame size of turbos.

Thumper turbos

I would have to ckeck around to see what other turbos are out there. There are a lot more turbos than t88's and thumpers! I will do some looking around for ya and see what I can come up with. I can tell you that Holesets are nice, They have a lot of stuff for the medium sized diesel equipment. Plus they are easy to get your hands on, that means less expense! You can also modify Garrett parts such as compressor wheels can be modified to fit the Holesets. You just have to pick the frame of the turbo that best suites your needs.

thumper 88

well i got my TS-88 (turbo specialties) turbo in friday,it is ******* huge, i have a dummy motor in my car and when i bolted the turbo on the header the whole motor tilted forward!! is is heavy!
i went wiht a 1.22 dvided housing and a clipped q2 turbine wheel, hopefuly i will be able to spool the monster up and make about 800 h.p. although i will probably need 1000 h.p. to keep up with that damn honda of Stephan!!!

on another note last monday i was driving my car down the beltway cruising at aobut 70 mph in 5th gear ehwn all of a sudden a heard a clunk and i could no longer git the car into gear, so i assumed that the pilot bearing seized onto the input shaft. well yesterday i thought that i would pull the tranny and fix it, but when i tried to remove the tranny it just slid out like normal! well to make a long story short it looks like my crankshaft broke in two peices!!! WTF? i have never had this happen to me and i woul maybe expect it if i was making a lot of power but i just got the new turbos on and have not made any real power yet. has anyone had this happen to them and if so is there some kind of treatment i can do toprevent this?

You don't have to worry about Stephan's civic. If you're running with the NHRA he has to run in the pro class. Now that NIRA is not there anymore the only place you have to worry about running with him would be at an IDRC event.
What kind of car are you speaking about that broke the shaft?

eccentric shaft

sorry, i assumed you knew i only drive fd's

it is a third gen 94 that i am going to sell to finish my race car and buy a truck and trailor the only thing that may be fishy is that i had the e-shaft repaired by the same guy who repairs John force,Joe Amatos and almost all of the funny car and top fuel rides! i had the front side ground down welded back up and reground to size. i have not pulled the motor back out yet but i guess that if it broke behind the bearing surface than the repair must have damaged it! **** i dont have time/money for this crap my race car is almost done. i guess i will need to get them heat treated from now on.

It probably would have come out better and cheaper to just buy a new shaft!
