hey Funk, how goes it... My 13bre ate an apex seal and the apex seal ate the turbine wheel of my 62-1.... I was thinking of getting the 62-1 rebuilt... but it seems that the cost of the rebuild is practically the cost of a new one... i have a line on a T61 but there isn't any real info on the turbonetics website other then the comp map.

what are your expectations?

A friend of mine had one on his VanSteenburg engine. He could motor past every car at Daytona except for the big-dollar factory sponsored Corvette and Mustang.

yeah do some searches on the t61. I actually got a t61 not to long ago and was going to put it on my streetported motor but then desided to go half bridge and t70. Anyways while doing searches I found that everyone (not all that popular of a turbo though) that had one really enjoyed it's responce and power. Seemed like alot of people where saying it was the most well balanced turbo for the rotary (just oppinion I'm sure). Anyways I've heard good and bad things about almost all the turbos out there but with the t61 I've heard nothing but good stuff.

Ps. That link is old school That guy hasn't been on since 2k2, lol.

No, sorry. The engine was built by one of the better rotary shops in the U.S. though, so I'm sure that whatever the port design, it was optimal for that type of road course.

That doesn't change the facts, although I think a more modern GT turbo would be a better option for those who are willing to spend the money.

Ps. Old school? Pfft.

oh I wasn't trying to say "it's old so it must be wrong" or anything like that just stating that it's an old school thread Thats also why I said that "Seemed like alot of people WHERE saying it was the most well balanced turbo for the rotary. I didn't bring up the newer gt ball bearing turbos as of late but just kind of implied that there are others now a days that are better. Still doesn't take away from the fact it's a good turbo no matter what year it is.

My first single was a T-60 and it was pretty fast. If you can get one cheap I would do it. BUT,...... You should get the biggest turbo you can stuff in that engine bay and make ALOT more power on pump@15PSI. I have Dee's (KGPARTS.COM) R85 which is probally like a 74mm? and it spools just as fast and makes alot more power.

Jrat runs this turbo. As far as i can see, he is making very good power, though he did run out of compressor at about 24psi.

Tis true.. Much above 20 PSI and the turbo starts running out of breath.
