What size wastegate spring? Try a stiffer one.

No, not normal. Check for boost leaks, check your boost controller, check all vacuum lines to the WG.

is this just free revving or are you driving it? it wont really build much if any boost unless theres a load on it...

I'm sure it's under load, stock twins don't even produce 6 psi while the car is in neutral.

PowerFC logs are in bar x100 so you didn't hit 19 Psi but rather 0.19 bar. 0.2 bar is 2.9 PSi

How much boost your turbo makes is dependent on your wastegate spring and your boost controller if you have one. If its only making 6 psi, then maybe you have a 6 psi spring in your wastegate? Other then that check for boost leaks, exhaust leaks, etc.

mine is seven lb spring... i can hit about 4 psi free revving... so i didn't know...

possibly the vacuum lines to the wastegate/ boost controller are mixed up too...

http://www.npcompleteperformance.com...um-diagram.GIF

this is how mine is supposed to be hooked up for the tru boost. not positive that they are all the same but check the instructions on your boost controller if you have one..

and im not implying that you are stupid or anything... you probably have them hooked up correctly however everyone makes simple stupid mistakes sometimes...

haha.. its all part of trouble shooting.. but unfortunatley i checked those hoses 3 times over and there hooked up right.. but i took my car to lube x and i got underneath it to look for exhaust leaks and there was no exhasut leaks. so i guess im looking at the charge pipe intercooler and block off plates.. anyone with execl should look at the log and tell me if thats normal or not.. it says it boosted to 20 psi.. (thats what the map sensor read) but my evc only read 6.. so i dunno if the map sensor is based off of atmospheric presure(14.7) and it added 6 psi... which would make my evc correct.. of i have a massive leak.. when the turbo does come online it sounds like a jet.. but i cant hear any leaks.. ( exhaust might be a little too loud lol).. but thats what the log said.. i dunno.. i will have to do a boost leak test

well.. i do have a hks evc 6.. so even if i had a 6psi spring.. im sure i would be able to boost more.

i looked underneath the car and around the turbo manifold and theres a little black meaning carbon build up.. so maybe tiny leaks? would a tiny leak cause it to not spool ?..

Same as a wastegate leaking for spool, will significantly delay spool & limit boost like a lower set gate.

Only if the boost controller is set to run higher boost and hooked up correctly to begin with. Do you have one of those synapse gates or a normal wastegate?

Unless your manifold is falling off, thats usually not the source of the problem.

im running a greddy type r wastegate.. it is old but i took it apart when i got it to make sure the diaphram had no holes or tears.. it seemed to be in pretty good condition..i squited soapy water when the engine was cold on the exhaust manifold and there were some pretty big bubbles .. so im going to retorque that and then see what happenes.. but im pretty sure thats not going to change anything.. how do you check spring pressure anyway?.. i just have one that it came with.. not really sure what it is.

It was the boost controller.
