To all those running a T66, with a streetport, How do you like it, any dyno sheets? Thanks in advance, Carl Byck

Jason from AEM likes it in his FD but with a different ar (1.15). Very good turbo for 600++ rwhp. Don't forget to get dual ball bearing with it.

Yogi, yes I saw your dyno, very nice . What do you think that turbo is good for on a streetport without the methanol? For those of you following, I currently have a TO4 with a wet CHRA. My temps are both 190-200 (balanced) while road racing. If I switch to a dry CHRA will my temps change signifigantly? Who has the best price on a 3.5" vband wet 1.00ar q trim t66? PTE qouted 1665.00, seems high, comments... Thanks to everyone, Carl

I would say 400RWHP on good pump gas with a good tune should be very achievable. My car just went 590RWHP @ 26PSI but my ignition is breaking down though we should have an ignition booster fitted and tuned by the end of the week. I don't think we will be pushing it much further as the motor is still in my RX3 coupe street car

Question

400 sounds very low, that's 60-1 territory. Are you really picking up 200rwhp from methanol enriched fuel? Since a GT35/40 is smaller in every dimension than a T66, and we have GT35/40s making high 400s, it seems I should be able to make near 500rwhp with a properly sized T66 Q trim. Comments?

Are you talking about on pump gas or with C16?
Yes you can run 16-17 psi on pump gas (91 octane) and nearly 500 rwhp and 436 rwhp @ 14 psi all day with a T66 Q-trim 1.15 a/r.

93,the numbers you are quoting, are they yours, or someone you know? So you think I can make 500 with a T66? P trim, or Q? What ar? I was sort of thinking a Q trim for flow, and a .81 ar for faster spool. This is a road race car. Also do you know anyone who has tested BB vs non BB in the same car? Most of the Supra guys seem to think the difference in spool is 200-300 rpm at best. What do you run? For 500rwhp, in a road race car, T78, T66, or GT35/40? It seems very few guys are running 20 osi, which would be required to make the 500. Can you direct me to any dynos at 20+ psi for any of these turbos? The plan is to run the car all the time on 100 unleaded. Thanks for your time, Carl

Carl ............. not knowing the type of fuel your going to run I have no real idea of the kind of power your going to make but if your going to be running 100 MON fuel 450+ should be easily achievable It all depends on the tune and the preparation of your block. Though I do think .81 AR will be too small !!!!

I went from a 60-1, 1.0 p trim to a T66 1.0 q trim dual bb expecting to have spool up be the same. I figured I'd loose some spool with the larger comp wheel but gain it back with the BB... not so. My T66 spools faster, about 500 rpm faster. Maybe they are testing the single BB and not the dual?

Machinehead, do you agree with some prior threads that the spool has at least as much to do with the trim, as the ar(extreme changes excluded). Any dynos Machine? Has anyone tried a pt67, or a ctc67? That's a 67mm GTQ garrett wheel with a hot side a little larger than the T66. My friend Andi made 682RWHP(cast manifold) with that on his Supra, with full boost coming 400rpm sooner than a T66 Q trim. As to the ball bearing issue, you may be right, although there are certainly several guys running the ITS turbos as well. Anyone have a source for a full GT40? Machine, FD, or FC? If FC, what manifold(probably custom). I guess I'll just keep my eye out for a deal on either a GT35/40, or a T66. Thanks everyone, Carl

Running the T66 between a piston motor and a rotary motor is completely different ball game. You can't justify you'll have the same hp. It's possible to make 682 rwhp on the supra but not on a rotary. Rotary needs 15 lbs/min. of air more like a T70 - T72 or use 70 shot of NOS in able to have the same hp. To solve these, you can use a T72 with dual ball bearing and surely will spool faster than a T66, no more NOS and make power right off the bat. I know it's expensive but it's worth it.

Ball bearings are overrated.. The GTQ exhaust wheel rules though.. I'm stoked w/ the results on my new turbo...

Carl-- If you do end up getting the CTC67H (which I _HIGHLY_ recommend; after 5 single turbos I've finally found a turbo I'm gonna keep), make sure to specify that you want the bigger AR (.81 or .96) since you guys need bigger ARs w/ your rotaries. FYI my 682rwhp (Supra) was made on this turbo w/ the .68AR exhaust housing.

Regarding the T72.. I personally don't believe that a T72BB will outspool the 67GTQ non BB. My 67GTQ non-BB spools only about 100-150RPMs later than my old T64BB, and it's a bigger turbo on both the compressor and exhaust sides. How much power are you wanting to make? I know the 67H will support 700rwhp on a piston motor, i.e. I'd guesstimate about 76-80lbs of flow.. I'm not sure what translates into on a Rotary..

Didja ever get that Tein issue fixed on your Supra? That AFC still workin good for ya?

TTYL man..

Andi

Carl--

Sorry I couldn't talk when you called earlier; I was driving back from lunch w/ a couple of co-workers and I was following their directions on how to find the closest gas station... heh. anyways, shoot me a call back...
