T04E vs. 60-1... 300 - 375 rwhp, street driven
I figured this topic hadn't been beat to death enough... so here it is again :-)
I've got a TII w/ stock ports that i want to run at about 12-15 lbs of boost. Which turbo would you recommend?
I was thinking a P-Trim with a divided .96 A/R exhaust... any ideas?
Thanks!,
Manolis

My friend had better results with the 60-1 turbo P-trim and .96 a/r than a TO4E superV trim. His 1st gen. car put out 421 rwh @ 18 psi (not sure on the boost level since it was back in 1997) on pump gas on the 60-1.

You could actually run a 1.15 and spool around the same rpm, and have more top end power because it flows more than the .96!
I suggest a 60-1 turbo, you can make lots of power with low boost.

Hey InitialD FC...
sounds good :-)
60-1 it is. How much does a good divided manifold cost? how about a non-divided manifold?
Also...
How much do the ball bearing upgrades help out (boost response, etc.?)
How long does a turbo typically last when being driven by insane 17 year olds?
Thanks!,

Go divided turbine housing if using a divided manifold !!!
If not then there's no advantage......
The whole idea is maintain exhaust flow from each port separate 'till the turbine wheel.
For 12-17 psi of boost both 60-1 and 62-1 are very good performers in a P-trim/.96 or 1.00 A/R. 400rwh @ 15-16 psi easily

<duh>
should have made that more clear...
I'll definately go with a divided manifold with a divided exhaust housing on the turbo, i was just asking about the undivided one for the .96 (just in case...) (that probably made even less sense :p )
how about the other parts? (BB advantages? --worth the extra 50% of the price?)
manifold prices?
Thanks!,
