Nobody can tell you that. It depends on the condition of the engine, the tuning, the use of that turbo, what other peripherals will you put to support that turbo etc etc.
If the engine is in good condition and the rest are made up correctly then you should have no problems, although i would start saving money for a rebuild
And yes, if the engine goes boom there is a chance to cause damage to the turbo. Although thats very rare but depends on what brakes inside the engine some metallic particles may reach your turbo throu the exhaust port and cause damage on the turbo.

I'll be running 10lbs until I can save enough $$ for a rebuild. My car currently has 47k miles on it. And stock motor. If you have a good rotating assembly, its usually quite a bit cheaper to get it rebuilt. But if you're going to go down the re-man path, then I'd keep the boost cranked up until it let go!! CJ

Nobody can tell any numbers especially with a rotary engine. Even if the car is stock you cannot tell numbers. You may pop the engine at 1K miles or 100K miles.
But if you do everything correct and you take care of it should last for another 30-50K.
