Guys I need Help, I Love power, and I know that getting an T78 would get me lots of it, However It costs so much, Until I get the guts to spend that kind of money, I am loooking to go non-sequential for now. I am wondering would it be possible to get the same kind of power you would get in a single T78 in a non-sequential setup, or damn close. Im thinking ported engine, bigger Intercooler, pulleys, and the works also. Has anyone heard of 400rwhp with non-sequential, and how much boost could the stock turbos take?

OK So It is possible to get around 375 to 400 in a stock non-sequential setup(assumming), ok now heres my big question. You said that the engine couldnt take much more power than 375- 400 est hp, then whats the difference If you have a single twin and youre running high boost at 475rwhp what makes the single twin so much different that the engine can handle its spool up, and it cant handle the high boost of the stock twins? Is it a different Engine Management Setup? , or is it an ECU, or is it different hoses. And If so can these same changes be made to the engine to accomodate the same boost or similar from the stock turbos...... Boost is Boost.... help me out if Im Wrong.
Thanks

Ok, I'm just jumping to the end of the thread to make a post .. you guys may this this is stupid
On the topic of turbo lag, Right before the demise of my talon I put a 16g turbo in.. Wishing I had gone for the 20g instead. Not as though the 16g was a big turbo, but for the power gain in top end, I certainly wouldn't have minded going to a 20g.
For my fd, I'm thinking of the potential of a parallel ball berring setup.. Not sure how this would work.. just an idea 400hp at the end of my mods list would be fine with me. I've driven a 450hp 300zx, I don't have any need for that much, 400 in a car that weighs 500lbs less should be juuuust fine
Anyway, the point was that turbo lag isn't that big a deal, with a good straight, free flowing exhaust, the power band is so smooth that it makes even larger turbos quite streetable. If you are going to be driving around in the city, with a car with a t-78 you will still have more horse power than the average civic at low rpms.
Thats it for my brainfart

The process of streetporting usually costs from 300-700 hundred bucks depending on builder. A motor rebuild including a streetport, remove and replacing motor, new seals etc would be anywhere from 3500-5000 bucks. There are some guys on this forum that would do it for less. My advice would be to post a thread titled "Who wants to rebuild my motor" or something to that effect on the 3rd gen section. You will probably get some replies.
