I'm using the 40mm version without a boost controler. Works great.
If you plan on running over 10psi, use the heavier spring and the large valve seat. You're always going to want to use the larger valve seat to maximize the exhaust pressure against the valve. Start with the lowest boost port settings and work your way up adjusting the preload to minimize lag. The preload adjuster will not raise boost (much). It is there to help keep the gate shut until the ideal boost pressure is reached. The turbo will seem to "hit harder" the more preload is added. The trick is NOT to overdo it or you'll overboost big time. Having a "safe zone" in your fuel map is a good idea. If 15psi is your goal, richen the map so by 18psi your at 9:1 and 5deg advance so it will fall on it's face and save your engine.
The Synchronic wastegate is far superior to anything else made so far. The machine work inside and out is absolutely flawless. No rough castings or mill work (HKS what?). And, no, the seals will not melt. They're suppost to have a higher melting point than steel.
The synapse synchronic wastegate will be more popular once they pick an easier to say and spell name :-)
