symptom of a bad oil seal??
I had some problems with the car after installing my 60-1 HiFi turbo. When I pulled it off, the turbine wheel was soaked in oil, but there was no oil in the intercooler lines, etc.
I have a bad side seal on the rear rotor, but i'm not sure if that could have contributed.
Her's my rather odd question: While the turbo was off, I put my thumb over the input line, and blew into the return oil line. When I did this, I could hear air escaping through the turbine area. Is that a possible blown seal, or is it "normal"?
I've heard that the seals are more to prevent exhaust gases from getting back into the system, and can allow oil to pass if it backs up enough. True or no?
If it helps, the turbo only had 3 hours of night time driving at no more than 9 or 10 psi.
Any help would be appreciated.
