Single turbo v6 eclipse prob, help from the experts?
Yeah, i know this isnt a dsm forum, but i didnt want to join one just to ask this question, and with the knowledgable people around here i figured they could help
I helped install a single turbo on a 00 v6 eclipse gt over the last 3 week's a few hr's a night during the week and every saterday. Well after everything was said and done we got it boosting today for the first time, i only let him run 2-3psi top's on a very rough tune.
Well just before we got it home an intercooler pipe let go due to it not being tightented down enough. While putting it on i noticed oil on the inside of the pipe. Upon further investigation ive notived there is oil in all the intake piping after the compressor.
I was told i do not have to run an oil restrictor but just encase we put an ajustable needle seatvalve on the feed line and turned it down becaues the car was throwing a low oil pressure light, the valve solved it. The feed and return line to get hot so im assuming the turbo is getting oil, and sadly finding oil in the intake also supports this..
Now, why am i finding oil everywher? Do i need to close the valve more? could there be damage to the seal's in the turbo? Im assuming this isnt supposto happen.
