Single Turbo T4 Manifold Options

So I've been looking for a manifold for my turbo (T4 flange) and was thinking about getting the HKS cast manifold for the durablity and reliability.

I was wondering if there were any known options out there that provide race level durability in a stainless steel tubular option?

We hand make them in house. Most of our customers are road course guys, and no one has ever cracked a manifold from us. Standard manifolds are heavy wall 304L, but if you are super concerned for extra cost we can do heavy wall( 0.120") 321SS. We don't have a long lead time either, no one ever waits longer than 6 weeks for a manifold.

That sounds good, as this car is used primarily on the track. Do you have any kind warrenty on the manifold?

Standard lifetime for original purchaser. Most track guys also get this too;

http://turblown.net/store/index.php?productID=129

We offer it for downpipes too, and turbine housings. Most guys who don't track their car have no idea how hot your turbo system gets from 10+ minutes of WOT.

For your information too I did a back to back about 5/6 years ago of tubluar vs hks cast, was 1000rpms difference in spool and 30+ft lbs of torque everywhere. This was however on an FC HKS cast manifold that isn't as nice as FD unit...

Does anyone make a manifold in Inconel? It'd be really good for the thermal properties, plus it's still really weldable.

After some research the only "off the shelf" readily available options for a T4 are:

HKS cast

Doc Race

RX7store

And of course the ebay ones (Megan, OBX, etc)...

Are there any others I'm missing?

^That manifold and the DOC RACE manifold look like really nice pieces. I noticed the wastegate tubing is not equal. On both manifolds one tube is a bit longer than the other. I wonder if there is any benefits from having them equal length?

Does anyone have weight numbers for any of these manifolds?

heavy, prob all in the 15-30lb range. you could buy a cheap one if you were worried about weight

For me at least, there isn't much of a point in it being light if the manifold is going to break on the track. I'm just curious how much the HKS cast weighs vs. the SS designs as it's a really short manifold.

i have both ill weigh them tonight when i get home. I have the standard hks fc3s cast manifold and a custom 2"sch10 304l manifold i made. the runners are about 15" with 5/8" thick flanges. im pretty sure my ss one is a bit heavier though.

Thanks! Data always beats out guessing (of course this is for an FC vs. FD but they seem pretty similar).

outta curiousity why are you concerned over the weight of the manifold? is this for a race car or street car?

I won't say "race car" but that's the primary goal I'm moving my car towards. The car's primary duty is track time . I don't even drive it on the weekends really.

its amazing how much the full-race manifold is compared to the others (which are already quite expensive considering the quantity of material and simplicity compared to say a 4banger or 2j/1j manifold)... full-race is always super high quality stuff... but i could not justify paying that price for such a simple piece.

Agreed. Full-Race manifolds are known for the amazing quality but $1300 is kind of ridiculous. I was going to get the Full-Race mani back when it was $899 but for some reason the price went up $400 overnight with no change in the design or anything.

Hey Josh..what's up?

I have the Doc Race manifold...looks super nice to me Lol..whoever it's sitting on a bench at my parents house..T-4 divided. That's what I plan to run on my CYM one of these days...I can check on the weight of it this weekend if you like. I can see if my bro can get it for a "little" less if you like. He bought mine and like 5-6 Supra manifolds over the summer..so he might have some pull?

It still is, but that one uses a v-band mounting instead of a T4.

I got an email from Doc Race saying that their manifold's shipping weight is 20 lbs so if you remove all the packaging and what not it's probably 18-19 lbs. Yeah, if you can get the manifold cheap let me know!

I've been using the rotary-works FD manifold for the past TT season.

Only thing I was not a fan of was the big "D" style T4 ports. But other than that, it's has been working out fine.

I just sent my bro an email to have him check on pricing on the Doc Race manifold. There "might" be a discount if more than one is ordered, so if you know anyone that needs/wants one or anyone reading this...speak up.

Oh, ya ive seen that one. They still show the T4 tubular manifold on the HKS USA website in the T04Z kit but I cant find anywhere selling just the manifold.
