Rebuilding HKS T04R w/Apex Seal Damage???
Hey guys, I had a few questions, after searching a bit i still dont have much answers so hoping you can help me out...
I will be getting an HKS turbo kit and the turbo does have an apex seal damage so i had a few questions to ask!!!
Turbo: HKS T04R
1. Where is a good place to take/ship the turbo to have it fixed?
2. How much damage and what usually needs replacing when an Apex seal goes through the turbine housing/wheel?
2. How much does it cost for something like this to be fixed? From experience or Professional Opinion...

The cost of a wheel and rebalance usually. Not too much, couple hundred. Did the compressor wheel touch the compressor cover at all? Sometimes that can happen then you will possibly need those items looked at as well.

Sean I dont have that info yet, but i dont think so...I dont have the turbo yet, I just need to get an estimate of the cost of such rebuild, can you PM me with the price for a rebuilt HKS T04R with a (turbine wheel)/balancing and such...so that i can have that as my basis and may send it to yo as soon as i get it...
Any other recommendations on upgradable parts on this turbo? For a car with the stock rebuilt motor that is going to go large street port in the future-once it blows...lol...got ~12,000 on the reman and it runs nice...so far...heh

Also does anyone know if there are some upgrades that could be done to the turbo/parts that would make it stronger/faster spooling and boosting all the way till redline and still hold 10-20psi???
