Okay, one last question (figured it should be a different thread. Can anyone rebuild an apexi rx6 turbo? There's doesn't seem to be any play and it still spools, however it blows oil through it. Does anyone make an o-ring to replace the one that crapped out? I figure the turbo is gone anyway, so does anyone know where i can buy a kit to rebuild it myself? (i'm pretty knowledgeable about most mechanics.. (i've pulled and replaced the engine...)

are you sure its the turbo? we had one (apexi rx6) that smoked and burned lots of oil and it turned out it was due to the oil injection vacuum lin being hooked up before the turbo, not the turbo itself. we were able to isolate just the turbo, and it still smoked.

I have heard occurance when the RX6 is used constantly under high exhaust gas temperature, the bearings gets cooked so bad, they start to get blow by...
If this didn't happen before, and just recently started, it might not be an oil injection related issue.

i know that the oil is coming out of the turbo, yes. I can see it seaping with the air filter off and the car running, but i am told it may still be the fact that oil is not escaping the turbo well enough and is passing through. Any idea on how to make the oil pull through better? Any kind of pump? How do i check to see if the turbo is bad? I have been told that in many cases the turbo won't be bad, it will just be too much oil. What do you mean by vacuum line?

oh and btw, it is so expensive to rebuild the RX6 , its usually worth it just to buy a replacement from APEXi directly. I know you have mentioned you have basic mechanics knowledge. If you have experience opening the turbo and examining the center cartridge and removal of the bearing... you should make sure that the turbo is the location where the oil-blow-by occurs.

I bought my kit used and it had a little damage (small chips) on the turbine wheel. I called lots of different places and they all said "we can't get parts for that turbo" and not to send it. However, TEC said that they might be able to help, so I sent it to them to take a look. They were able to fix it up for me for a very reasonable fee. They trimmed the turbine and then rebalanced it, and I think that means they took it apart and put it back together. They sent back a bag with the turbo that had a little clip in it, which seems like it must have been an original part that they replaced in the process (more evidence that they did indeed disassemble it). Maybe they can help.

you could check if the turbo is good by taking the turbo off, supply an oil feed source into the turbo with similar oil pressure.
without having the exhaust running into the turbo, see if the oil sips through the bearing catridge.
while the turbo is off, you can inspect inside the exhaust port, and verify if your oil control rings are going bad at the same time.
