Just wondering. cause so far i have alot of heat wrap for hoses & intercooler hoses that are near the turbo and was either going to get a heat shield or a turbo blanket. Now the company says you can put your hand on the blanket. I wanna get to the truth!

I have the Gotham Racing turbo blanket. I does two great functions: (1) kepts the whole engine compartment cooler and (2) most importantly keep the compressor cooler!

It might not have that show car look, but who cares when it helps your car to be faster do to lower intake temps.

I talked to my turbo builder and he has mixed emotions about it. The only thing he doesn't like about it is that it keeps the heat "in" therefor theoretically keeping the turbo hotter, not letting it cool off naturally as if it would without the blanket. He likes heat shields better, but they don't keep the engine bay area no where as cool though.

The turbo blanket by Gotham works very well, it's a brilliant piece.

Do not waste money on the DEI kit as it is junk. You have to custom fit it, it's a bitch to get it on, and falls apart into a million fibers upon removal.

http://www.gcg.com.au/Catalogue_Menu...rbo_Covers.htm

the ones we use here are a bit different to the gotham one. they look a bit neater.

as stated earlier some people like then and some don't.

drops engine bay temps considerably, i can put my hand on the cover after hard driving but they tend to retain heat for quite a while.

guys from pac racing said to use it but if i park it after hard driving to pull the cover off
