Please your advice GT3574 ASpec vs BW S366 Himni
Guys,
I have a road track purposed FD.
Right now have all supporting mods for Non Seq twins:
- Supra Fuel Pump / 850cc / 1200cc
- FMIC / Koyo / 25 rows oil coolers
- Power FC / Apexi AVCR
No AC / No Smog parts / Stock Port / 93 Gas
Am looking for a Single kit to bring back to Chile (am in Miami), some of the characteristics am looking for:
- quick spool for road racing, 400-450whp, upgradeable to 500 max
- no need for big fuel upgrade
- easy to install, easy tu tune up and support on the forum
- best bang for the buck
- no need for fancy BB turbo
After a deep research I finally took the above two kits as the most used on the forum.
Which one would you recommend for my purpose ??
May be there is one I have not considered yet..
I would really appreciate your advice.

the two turbos are apples and oranges... not the same range.
the GT3574 is your best fit given your objectives../
the GT3574 is 6.386 sq inches average diameter and flows around 65 pounds of air or 490 rw rotary hp
the S366 is 7.743 sq inches average area and makes 79 pounds or 595.
there is nothing wrong w the S366, it is just too big given your objectives.
i know of two sources for the "3574"... A-Spec and Turblown.. where it has a different name... TD60 or sometning similar. both excellent sources.
given your objectives, an easy answer.

Actually I noticed that turbo mentioned here, but on their website is not mentioned as a Kit; that's why I left it out the selection.
I will ask for a kit price.
Would this turbo meet the Upgradeable to 500whp requirement ??
Once I get some extra info from Turblown I will post it for future knowledge.

I can tell it is definitely a great turbo & kit, but as far as pricing, it plays in a different league compared to the other players mentioned above.
Too bad my car is not daily or street, otherwise I would jump on this turbo; but for a weekend self-sponsored road racer it's kind of over priced.
What about the BW S360 kit ?? Or S362 ??
Would any of these fit better ???
Just trying to avoid the big delivery delay of A Spec....

BW tags are challenging...
there is the Bullseye S362
and the BW S300s 62 (2010 catalog)
i have dynoed the BW S300s 63 as you might expect it is similar...
here's how i see these turbos sizewise:
GT3574 TD61
compressor av area 6.386 sq inches
turbine area 5.89
BW S300s62
compr av area 6.949
turbine 6.93
BW Bullseye S362
comp av area 6.69
turbine av area 6.31
rotaries do respond to large hotside wheels and the BW delivers in this area. rotaries generate more heat than piston engines and also have to flow 30% more air/fuel to make the same power as piston engines so hotsides are important and what is optimum for a piston engine may not cut it w a rotary...
that is why the 3574 and TD61 concept (larger turbine wheel on essentially a GT35 compressor) works well.
at 8500 w my BW S300s 63 i noticed only 1550 pre turbo EGT. (24 psi, 514 hp). a happy motor due to an efficient hot side.
the S300s62, by virtue of it's larger compressor might be better for you if you are looking to make 500 and not over stress the turbo. the other good thing about the S300 is it's trim is low so it favors spool which might offset the larger wheel.
again all of the turbos mentioned are excellent, it is just a question of matching your objectives...
BTW, speaking of matching... your injector capacity will not match up w the larger compressor wheel.
500 rw rotary hp requires 5250 CC/Min. you have 4100. this assumes you run no more than 85% duty, can do 10.0 to 1 AFR and you have 13% lag.
yes, you can make 500 w less capacity but you should have a proper reserve as above.

Maybe someone can explain something that I'm overlooking here...
as when I watched the video clip the afr's were constantly on their way down and hitting 10 Ows just before the end of the run.... running out of fuel???

Borg Warner S363 meets all your requirements and cannot be beaten in terms of bang for buck. I recently fitted one to a 13B semi PP powered FC drifter. With a real conservative tune it made 452hp at wheels on 16psi - full boost by 3700rpm. PFC ecu, pump gas, .88 un-divided turbine. Forget about the whole semi PP thing, with a decent tune you'll make the same power at a slightly higher boost level on a stock port, and because BW turbo's are typically efficient at higher boost levels you'll go over 500hp no trouble if you need it (you'll likely need better fuel or water injection though).
