Question People with an FJO wideband

OK, today i finaly descided after a few month of use to get off my *** and try to figure out the RPM hook up for it. (i put a whole 8 minutes into *figuring* it out ) anyway, i have the conectivity?? kit, the $950ish unit but it did not come with RPM pickup lead. i have been using it without know exactly what RPM i am at when going back through logs (which obviously is not very helpfull).
what i tried today was to hook up that GM weather conector (green) to the RPM signal for my AVC-R. this did not work. should it be spliced into the lead that is labeled RPM pickup, (looks like a coaxial cable) or can i use the green lead?
how are you guys getting the RPM signal? thanks

It is an inductive pickup that clamps arround a plug wire like a timming light. I don't think you can use a standard ground trigger that the rpm signal uses.

All you need to do is connect the rpm wire from the ecu to the single green wire from the fjo controller. There is also a single blue wire that can be connected to the boost sensor output.

why then in that tiny *** little *manual* (if you want to call it that) does it have an "RPM pick up" (the clamp you refer to) AND a "tacho input"? (the green wire)

thats what i thought. that is why i used the GREEN wire as the signal. ( i stated this in my original post) but this did not work. i am also aware i can use the blue wire to get a signal from my map sensor.

so lets see... i have 2 totaly different ways to input the RPM signal, and two people telling me that ONE of the ways if right. two conflicting ways to do it.... i realy dont think i should have to buy another component for this if there is an RPM signal right in the kick pannel. i mean how the hell does my haltech AND AVC-R know what the RPM is and be dead on, but my stupid WB wont pick it up through the "TACHO INPUT"????

LOL @ Ernie! i will explain to you via email buddy.

Well if you are connecting the single connector green wire to the proper wire from the ecu then maybe your controller is bad. I sure hope not...mine went bad and it took forever to get another one. I use the single wire to log my rpms and don't use the clamp so if you are interested in the clamp let me know.

Actually mine started reading either 10.0 or 19.9. Nothing in-between. Didn't matter if the laptop was reading it or the litlle display. I got a new controller and it fixed the problem.

I just got my datalogging kit and am planning on hooking it up tomorrow. The place I bought mine from told me that the green wire should go to the neg side of the coil and the blue wire is a 5v input such as a map signal.

Yes the single connector green wire can be hooked up to the rpm signal from the ecu. That is what I use.
