Parts for Turbo
Pricing Together Parts for my 87 N/A single turbo setup
Want to keep stock engine internals, do I have to upgrade injectors or is that the only way to get above a certain HP
I'm planning on dropping a new fuel filter on my clogged sock but I figure I'll put a whole new pump in altogether to support turbo work later on, Do I need dual fuel pumps or regulators or one simple pump.
So far I have this
Turbo (t-78 looking for about 400whp and this sounds like the clear choice + i think i'll like turbo lag surprise =) )
Intercooler - I need to know differences among them and who makes the best, I would assume a front mount.
Do I need ignition, spark plugs, ( i just put new ones in 2 weeks ago for 68k mile tune-up), injectors?
Also will I have to upgrade my cooling system like my radiator or just flush it and I use 10w-30 mobil1, is redline better than mobil1 that anybody can vouch for? And would running 20w-50 slow my engine down or just make it not start in winters it will never run in?
Also I'm looking for the top manufacturers in all these markets, I am very big on quality, this is my fun car and my project-spare little/no expense.

I'm sure you can find blogs and mod lists on tons of cars on this board. ANYONE with a bigger turbo has at least the following: Bigger injectors, a stand alone ECU, upgraded fuel pump, some sort of large inter-cooler, upgraded oil lines, an exhaust system, intake, and some sort of ignition booster.
But with a turbo like the T-78 mentioned above, you'll need to start looking into tires, suspention, water/alcohol injection, a LARGE wastegate
Search the boards a little more, try to see how others have upgraded in stages. That may help.
I run 20-50 with no problem, but i live in the desert!

With that compression and turbo you're going to want to atleast goto a bur9 heat range if not colder depending on boost levels.
As long as you're not autoX, or track I'd would go with a front mount. You're going to want a bigger radiator, more power; more heat; bigger tax on the cooling system.
You will need bigger injectors for anything over 4psi I would imagine, to run any amount of boost you're going to need larger injectors hands down.
You're only going to need 1 pump, if you get a large unit, like an aermotive unit, or bosch unit etc.
If you're going to run a smaller pump, like a walbro, I'd use two.
Ron Davis makes really nice Intercooler cores, one of the best IMO.

probably won't launch hard very often.
Whats better, two small pumps or one big one? Do I need to upgrade fuel lines?
Will changing injectors before I get the turbo make any difference in performance or even harm fuel guzzling
