Options other than XS for TO4S repair.

I have an XS TO4S that was dammaged in an accedent and need to have it rebuilt. I have heard lots of horror stories on XS's quality and turn around and was wondering it there is someone who could rebuild it to the same specs, or buy a new one from. I love the power of this turbo, so I don't want a regular TO4S, but would like to know if I have any options other than to send it to XS.

Thanks

try cheapturbo.com - if you go new you would not be disappointed with there blowzilla turbo. Same low and mid power better upper due to a gt35r exducer.

Majestic or any of the regular turbo repair shops should be able to help. It's fairly easy to source parts. As far as I know the Blowzilla should just bolt right up, has the same T4 flange. If you want to get fancy you could look into some of the options from Precision.

why not just buy a PT61 or PT63? Price will be just a bit more than a rebuild. Plus you'll get the GT series exhaust wheel.

^^^^

Its a GT COMPRESSOR WHEEL, NOT exhaust/turbine. Its a standard T4 turbine (exhaust) with a GT 35r COMPRESSOR WHEEL in a T04s housing.

Ok -so I said it backward - I have been stuck in airports for the past 5 days, give me a break.

The "blowzilla" will fit on any T4 manifold.

I'd give ya a break, but you gave this misinformation twice, :P leading me to believe you didn't know the correct terms/parts that are involved with a turbo, more specifically the "Blowzilla".

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...90#post3865490

{QUOTE} I went with a "Blowzilla" from cheap turbo.com - it’s a T04s front side it’s a gt35r hot side, non-BB. Manifold was a custom SS made locally, downpipe was created at a local muffler shop with v clamps. Wastegate and blow off valve are the HKS that came with my XS kit.{QUOTE}

and here instead of referring to the GT35r compressor as a compressor wheel (which is what is used on the "Blowzilla"), you called it a "exducer" which is part of a compressor or turbine wheel.

Not trying to be a hardass or the internet turbo police , its a pet peeve of mine when people get turbo terminology mixed up. Cause then in other post I'll see that someone else picked up on this in a thread and they start to use wrong names, acronyms termology etc. and it gets several people confused.

So, to clarify the "Blowzilla"

T04s .7 a/r (4" inlet 2.5" disscharge) compressor cover (GT40 ported shroud comp cover available as well)
GT35R compressor wheel
Standard bearing (sleeve/bushing) T4 CHRA (center section)
P-trim T4 turbine (Q-trim an option, T3 turbine size an option)
T4 turbine housing (your choice of on-center, Tang, open valute or divided, A/R's etc ) (or you may go with a T3 option)

BTW, kickass car and nice choice of a turbo. And so you were one of the unfortunate many who got stuck during the holidays in a freakin airport.......SUX

Thx for the turbo lesson - perhaps instead of stating incorrect information I will let people purchase cheap crap and learn the same way I did.

Sorry if I offended your turbo engineering knowledge - you obviously have a far more superior understanding of the workings and nomenclature of forced induction than I ever will.
