OMG LOL... my ears are F'n RINGING!!!

Just took the car out for a drive today. Single TD61 setup with dual Tial 38 mm WGs dumped straight down to the street. Car rumbles, but is tame (soundwise) when cruising, but go WOT (especially with the windows down) and the thing is SO loud it makes my ears ring. Now, I'm old enough to know better and should probably plumb them into my DP to save what hearing I have left, but for now, I'm gonna keep it just the way it is. MAN I love it. Makes me do the silly "Holy ****" laugh everytime I get on it!!

Turn the boost up higher , it will get quieter; other things might however get louder however

if you are running spring pressure they will open pretty early. If you have no dump pipe that makes even more loud. Open wastegate is crazy and cool for a little while and then it's time to move on.

Ya I can only hear the wg dump if the ebc is turned off. High boost and loud exhaust in tunnels is fun haha.

52 next week. And, I hear what others are saying about the need to plumb them in and move on, but for now, I'm enjoying it (and scaring a few other drivers in the process)

Not to mention that it makes for some very interesting reactions on ride alongs

Might have to do that AMP. Been meaning to spend some of my Christmas money on a new toy, and a GoPro might be just the ticket! I'll keep you guys posted if the purchase happens!

Tim,

Sounds VERY much like the setup I ran on my FC. I'll never forget that day at the dyno and hearing my car a 19psi for the first time with dual open 38's on the dyno. OMG! Glad you're enjoying yours!

I'll never forget that night either Chris. It was EPIC Steve Kan. Car rolled onto the dyno barely running (I think the first pull it made something like 275 RWHP) and two hours later when steve finished you were in the mid 400s.

I'll never forget the look on your face (not to mention your hands visibly shaking) when you came back from your first test drive off the dyno! Definitely one of my favorite tuning memories!!

Tim,

That's awesome! Enjoy it! I used to run Chris' old manifold/wastegate setup and liked it. I'm currently running a 60-1 through one of Turblown's custom manfolds with dual open 44mm Tials. Oddly, they don't seem to scream quite as loud (probably the pitch due to a larger opening?).

Chris, your car wasn't THAT great... (lying through my teeth). I remember my brief ride while we were hanging out at Racing Beat. Epic!
