MSD 8204 Twin Post Coil

I installed one of these in my FD with a 6a after burning out my stock coil with the 6a. Anyway, I just started pushing boost on my 7 since putting in my single and had major problems with ignition breakup. I pulled the plugs they didn't look too bad or anything and so I installed one my FC's leading coils in place of the twin post msd. Ended up the MSD coil was the problem, not sure if it was just the coil I received as I have heard others have used them without issue. Just thought I let everyone know my experience if your thinking about using one.

I should have mine tomorrow... I'm just waiting on ordering two more ignition boxes for my blaster coils. Thanks for the info.

Only thing I noticed was that it's got one of the highest primary resistance of all the MSD coils. It's like 1.200 ohms. Those coils were designed to be used with the MC-3 digital Pro Stock Motorcycle ignition control box.
I use the MSD 8224 coils for the leading ignition without any problems on high horsepower applications. You need the 'coil interface module' MSD PN 8870 to use the 8224 coil.

If you ask MSD on their forum that have recommended the coil for rotary apps and the MSD 6a. I guess T2 coils are cheap enough should have stayed with it.
