Awsome to see Turbo Specialties getting thier name on a bad a 7 like that!!!! I'm assuming your speaking of the Turbo Specialties here in Birmingham, Al. Reed let Brian(former T.S.employee) and myself use the shop just a few nights ago to prepare Brians car for the dyno.

Good luck with the car (if you can call it a car hehe)

Later,

tranny and rear end

greg i am going to use an th400 automatic, the Madman firebird (3680lbs on 10" tires) runs a th400 and we just broke the record (that we previously held too ) in the fastest f body class with a 9.18@151mph on an automatic. this car dynod at 1190ftlbs of torque and 968h.p. so i figure that tranny with a 1500# weight break will easily get me there. i am using a spooled ford 9" for the rear but have not geared it yet, it has a four link setup and i am using AFCO dual adj shocks all the way around.

yes it is the Turbo Specialties in Alabama, Reed has been helping me out for a long time. he is currently helping with my twin t04 street car , the system is done but we are waiting for larger compressor wheels to come in before i can give y'all some figures!

Crispeed are you running the class with the same car you have now? if so you are going to have to put some bigger tires on it to keep up with me and drop a bunch of weight!

my engine is in the works right now and since i am fabricating everything including the intake manifold an turbo system from scratch i am not going to release any photos. i will say that i am getting alot of help from some friends at NASA they are letting me use some of their flow equipment, computer flow programs and crazy flow ideas!! i should have the basic setup prototype'd out in a week or so.

Just in case you forgot, guess who already have a head start and already have done all his testing!
You never know but I might have something in the works! HA HA!
I also know of a certain red FD from your way that may also be a back half car next year!

race cars

this is not my first race car, i was the first 10 second fwd import in Texas waaaay back in 97, i was also the third dyno jet owner, in Texas waaaay back tooo! just because i just got on the forum does not mean i have not "done my testing"!!you may have a head start on the engines bu t i have the chassis and the tuning down to a science

it would be great if you did have something in the works, i LOVE competition..it is what i live for.

i know about the other back half cars that are supposedly coming out but where are they at? if i get my car out before any of you do i will not be caught

At least we are all on the same side! We are blessed with the best import power plant in drag racing history!
Hey Marcus,
Ever had a problem with tire roll out?

Hell ya. Are these numbers for your FD "this car dynod at
1190ftlbs of torque and 968h.p" or the firebird. That is CRAZY if it is the Rex. MAD PROPS!

rollout and power

how much stagger do you have Crispeed, you may have to go with a slightly larger tire to eliminate the problem?

i wish those figures were possible with a 2 rotor, the h.p. is doable but if we could get 1100ft/lbs of torque the racing world would be in trouble...road and drag racing!! even a 3 rotor would be hard pressed to make that much torque, but someone will eventually do it it is just a matter of time. we are making so much more AVG. h.p. than we were even 5 years ago. look at crispeed he is making over 700bhp like it aint ****!!! i know i was driving my car around with a combi-port for a while and it was kinda crazy but driveable i am sure his motor can be streetable, although he probably could care less about street racing! i know i dont!

I'm running with 26X10's right now but would prefer to be running 28X10's but they can't fit unless I cut the wheel well and do some sort of mini tubs.I don't really want to do that though.
I ended up returning the present set for some new ones.
I could not believe that one tire was actually 2" larger in circumference! That would have screwed with the suspension tuning I had planned for tonight. Speaking of which I finally got the car to launch as straight as an arrow but the only problem was that it almost flipped over on a very very big wheelie!
It actaually scraped the rear bumper and the rear tow hooks came in contact with the track!
The sad part was that I had no choice but to back off and it landed very harsh taking out my custom front nose and a piece of the fiberglass broke and guess where it got sucked up into!
Now I need a new compressor wheel for my turbo. I guess that's all part of racing!

Look at crispeed he is making over 700bhp like it aint ****!!!
Actually I'm at 700+ RWHP but don't tell anyone
