I'm sure you have already done this but just in case, you do have resisters installed on the secondary injectors right?

ok, so i fixed the problem!! my fuel pressure was WAY too high!! its was 40 as i said before and i didnt know it had to be that low! now, i went to start it and it starts up perfectly with the vacuume hose connected but its idling at 30-32psi... and its doing fine.. when i take up the pressure, it idles the way it was before.. is that normal.. and when i rev the engine and look at the guage, it dips down to like 25 or so... is this correct?? i though i could set it at 43.5 and still be ok??? also, the car is on a base map for now so would that cause it? im going to get it tuned and when Steve Kan tunes it, so you think he will tune it so that it idles at 43.5 psi?? i need the added fuel pressure because im going to boost up to 20psi

Thanks!~!

Make sure you are coming from the fuel rail at the side of the fuel pressure regulator and to the return line at the bottom of the fuel pressure regulator.

Counterclockwise on the adjustor will make the pressure go lower, clockwise higher.

With the car off, jump the relay so the pump runs on high. The fuel pressure should be set to 38PSI,(static).

When the car is running and the vaccum line is connected, your idle pressure should be in the 30PSI range. When you coast and the vaccum is high, you may see the pressure dip to 27 or so and that is normal.

You want the fuel pressure vac line as close to the combustion chamber as possible to be 100% accurate. Use your vac nipple with the red cap on it for the fuel pressure regulator! Do not use the vac nipple near the throttle body. And do not tap anything else into this line.

Yes, it is normal for the car to idle like **** when the pressure is higher. More fuel is being pushed in at the higher pressure. You would have to trim the fuel table way back, but there is no reason to run higher than a static 38 to 40 PSI. At that pressure the pindle is being held open longer by the extra pressure. Put your thump on a garden hose and turn the valve up. Same principle. In other words, the injectors are designed to operate at idle with approx. 30PSI.

I run 22PSI all the time with a base of 38 to 40PSI. Your regulator should be a 1:1 which means for each pound of boost, the pressure will rise one pound, so at 20 PSI, you should see around 60PSI on the gauge.

Crossmy fingers and toes, I had the same engine all last summer and am still running that same engine.... It's all in the tuning.... and the proper setup....

^ from the first page.

Yes, it is normal for the pressure to dip when reving...once you close the throttle plate the engine is at a high rpm/high vacuum state...higher the vac lower the fuel pressure as boost increases ---> higher the fuel pressure.

base pressure 38psi, idle ~30psi, at 20psi of boost > 58psi of fuel pressure.

If you're running PFC, i won't be able to tune out the idle well enough for higher fuel pressure. The power FC runs a separate map that is not changable (10% at most). If it was haltech, TEC 3, microtech, it wouldn't be a problem.

i fixed it thanks to Zkeller!!! Thanks again!!

my idle isnt bad... what i was doing is tuning it to 43psi with the car on and the vacuume connected! it was running so rich it was sputtering! but i set it to about 40psi and put the vacuume in and it sputtered for a few seconds and ran just fine! btw, what kind of fuel pressure (without the vacuume source) should iu run for that amount of boost??

stock static fuel pressure is around 38-40psi so with the vacuum hose tied to (depending upon your vacuum) it should be around 32psi.
