Inconel Exhaust Manifolds?

Well the waterjet is finally here at work and lets just say we cut some stainless .5" stuff today like butter. I was actually impressed with the detail along with very little wash. I was wondering how many people would be interested in the engine manifold flanges or T04 flanges out of inconel. Along with some tubing you could make some badass turbo manifolds. I am currently looking for suppliers to give an accurate guess as to the price of each of the flanges. I just want a feel for what people would want stainless 321, 304, or Inconel or other metals? Suggestions?

I had a manifold made by KOOKS headers, and it was $300 for the 321 SS supplies. Inconel would have been $800.

Yeah, it also depends on how many bends you use, etc. I had to get a few u-bends, which can be expensive...but it was probably cheaper than having him mandrel bend the pipes.

Well I have a call in with our purchasing dept. to find me prices on the 4' x 8' x 1/2" 304,321,Inconel. I know the 304 is around $550 each ....gonna be painful to see the pricing of Inconel but we shall see. There will have to be alot of interest in flanges for the Inconel before ordering a sheet of that

I have Inconel turbing on my car right now. There's no point to doing the manifold plates or flanges in Inco. Use thick stainless for those portions. The actual tubing is where inco can be a big benefit. You won't burn through it and it's strong as hell as far as stopping fatigue cracking etc. where the manifold is supporting some weight. As others have mentioned you'll be surprised at two things. A. how expensive it is and B. How hateful it is to work with. The person who normally handled my mandrel bending broke his machine trying to bend the inco tubing.
