^^Great advise for a horrible launch

Need to know a few things like DC13B eluded to such as:

Engine porting configuration

Size turbo

What psi is it set too

When do you see positive boost (what RPM)

When do you see full boost (RPM)

What size and type/brand tires

What shocks are you running

ETC.

Maybe then someone could give some advise, its all determined by what set up and tires you are running, as all these factors determine your Launch RPM.

right, it depends on so many things......... and even if you get good advice.... you're still going to f up and embarass yourself.

if you've got ET Streets and a good clutch........ start out at 6500 and drop the clutch. you'll only get it right be trying different methods

i've never been able to get a good 60 with et street by slipping the clutch

practice makes a good launch. Keep in mind, your launch on the street is much different than the launch on the track. GL to you sir.

Yup, its gonna have to be based on f-ing up a few times along with what advise is given, but you can practice on the street (somewere secluded, and just launch, no need to run it through the gears). Keep in mind the track will be stickier so you'll need more rev so you don't bog. Personally, 3500~4000 RPM's on ET streets with a little clutch slipping. This is done wiht a quick spooling turbo though (T04E, T04S, GT35R size). You could always just run the hell out of the RPM's and drop the clutch, you'll look like a hero as you burn the tires off then bog 2nd because you had to shift due to RPM's screaming but you wont be going fast enough for it to be effective, and you'll get HORRID 0-60 times which will yield HORRID ET's as well .

also should be mentioned if you dont have some differential mods you can destroy it pretty quick with hard high revving launches for the FD.
the tII differentials are supposed to be more suited for drag racing. the fd3s tend to be less forgiving, and the kaaz diff is also a good choice.

If you have wheel hop be careful thats extremely hard on alot of things.

I say about 3000 rpm should be about right to start with. if you have excess spinning you will need to feather the clutch or the gas, if you dont spin much try a higher rpm. I wouldnt go much lower then 3000rpm, as it tends to bog down too much.
