HKS T51R Dyno

92 Pump Gas with Methanol Injection
23psi

The car had slight ignition breakup was only on the stock coils with a twinpower.
Also ran out of fuel pump on the top end( single bosch 044)

I tuned another car right before this one with a PT6765 that made 500rwhp, basically the same setup. On the above car I skipped most of the vacuum tuning since the car drove fine on the street, and owner wanted to max out the car. The first car I tuned the entire setup using the dynos load control, and everything was dead nuts on, started full pulls and afrs were all over the place( lag from the mechanical methanol injection). Figures are in dynojet numbers.

Nice meeting you again Elliot.

I hopefully have my oil leak issue sorted out and I am looking forward to making another trip out there to make full use of the dyno this time.

Sounds about right. I made 603 whp at around 27 psi with my old T51R KAI.

Wish I could put another one on the NSX....

My rub with big turbos like that is the spool and lack of low end power.. Nothing against you Elliot, but seriously, it's sitting at below 200whp until 5krpms!!

that solid rear makes a differance! My best trap has been 111mph in the 1/8th but never better than a 6.4 et.

My best 60 foot was 1.4X and that was only 1 time. I pretty sure Dan Schecter was in the 1.2x's? with his irs?

Thats odd. I went 1.45 on my 111mph pass. Went as quick as 1.36 before. 60 foot was there, mph there just no great et.

It is not the turbo, it is the dyno. That dyno is good tuning dyno, but your guess is as good as mine if the curve and total number is realistic on it, the loading is adjustable to some degree, it affects the power and the curve, same with the strap method. Most other T51r graph on this site has about 110 more HP at 5K.

You could get a GT4294R kit which is basically the same turbo for significantly cheaper or the upgraded billet wheel (GTX4294R)
