HKS T51r Bridge port Project
Hey guys, thought I'd share my engine build with you. My car has been for sale for ages & just couldn't give it away! I was going to do a PP turbo in a RX3 Drag car of sorts, but it looks like the FD is here to stay,so I'm thinking bridge port at the moment & maybe a centre bearing crank from Rohan at Xtreme Rotaries. I already have a set of single piece 3mm NRS ceramics. All the engine machining will be done by Rohan & the engine will be ported & assembled by myself & Dave at GT Auto garage. The engine made 450hp at the wheels on 1.2bar @7000rpm with a HKS T51R spl. The ports are standard with the only mods being 3mm steel apex seals, clearanced rotars & Xtreme Rotaries stud kit... The engine came out & appart today. Pics shortly...

Hey guys,my engine, clutch, fly wheel etc is at Xtreme in Melbourne for machining & balancing. I got some pics from Rohan of the manifold/throttle body set up. I hope I dont get into trouble for showing the world. Each butterfly is 48mm X4 which is a fair way bigger than the modified stock one I have which has one 48mm for both primary's. Tell me what you all think,it's very Porto Rico spec :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

did u convert to a push type clutch? any advantage? are u using the stock tranny with the OS giken converter? or something else...
the manifold is interesting.. reminds me of the V8 carb setups... I wonder how it performs...
I love the sound of the T51-R.. only problem is the turbos are so damn fragile and break so easily.. they cant take abuse much..

wow! very nice stuff there! congrats. i, too am interested in what machining was done to the rotor recesses. i can see that the overall weight was reduced, but there seems to be something unusual about the recesses ... share if you can, but if you can't, i understand. it's part of the game.
anyway, i'm very impressed with the manifold/wastegate setup. the engine is a beauty, but i think your exhaust setup is it's crown. perhaps its just the jealousy of knowing i can't weld yet. can't wait to see your numbers and hear about the boost characteristics. enjoy it, man.

you guys are very observant was wondering if anyone would notice, the rotors are a real trick bit of gear they are series 5 rotors as they have more meet to machine, and yes you are right the combustion chambers have been cnc machined to lower the compression ratio to 8:1 you may also notice that they have been lightened and if you look at the photo again they have been re-profiled by this i mean they have been machined into true shape and it is quite interesting to see where the cnc takes meet off and where it leaves it one, just shows the imperfection from factory.
if anyone wants to know more about these rotors and price etc pm me the way the american dollar is against the Australian dollar at the moment it may be a viable option to get them shipped over that goes for any of the X-treme Rotaries gear.
cheers dave

yeah converted it to push type some time ago and started running the Carbon twin plate it runs a ATS @ Across adapter kit and run a OS Giken 5speed gear set
Not sure what you mean about the Turbo has never missed a beat.

at least with my friends using them on Rb26's and 2JZ's
either way very nice car bro
how is the OS gear set? does it make the car more difficult to drive at all?

copy paste
Wow, this is incredible. This is a true copy of the original E&J Throttle body. Is amazing how the top notch stuff made is strickly a copy. You want to see top notch go to eastcoastparts.com. The least they could of done is make some type of change or improvements but i guess they dont have what it takes.

Hey do you have any pics of the throttle body and intake manifold on the motor in the car? I dont think thats going to fit without any cutting of the hood or lower manifold.

anthony i don't think it will fit either, i know for a fact the E&J TB with the JW lower intake wont clear a fd hood.
anthony, if you're intrested in that intake or TB let me know i got a set comming in and its cheaper that the E&J/JW combo. it also comes in a semi perif configuration as well, no mods needed

look at what this guy had to do to clear the E&J set up, and he has a low profile hat on there
