Question HKS 2835 twins?

Anybody have any experience with using these twins on an RX7? Guilly just made 780 HP with a stock block Supra no NOS using them. They seem like they would make some good HP on an RX7. The Kit seems pretty expensive though around 8000 bucks. I wonder what kinda lag they would have on an RX7.

Lag? please.....they are ball bearing turbos, they are supposed to spool up fast. I think it'll be an awesome set up on a RX-7

Well usually turbos that can support 800+ HP tend to have some lag.

On the rx-7 the 2035's would not be laggy at all!
Actually on the Rotary the 3037's would be the better set-up and the more often used twins to make serious power due to the larger exhaust wheel than the smaller ones on the 2035's.
Delta_Rotary!----How much boost was Guilly running?

Guilly was running 29lbs with a shot of NOS.
On the Supra the HKS twins are pretty laggy.

screw twins...a proper sized Single turbo is much better..make it simple:
1 motor
1 turbo
1 fuel managment system

On the Supra it's not that laggy when you have an auto trans with a 3000rpm stall!
I ran 10.40@130mph in a 94 Supra with a complete stock block and head!
I was able to boost 14psi before launch!
The I/C hose came off just before the traps so I guess it could have been a better run.

YEH!
I'm trying to find a single turbo that would support 40 psi at 10,000rpm without that much lag!
Have not been able to find one with the right compressor map to support that! Now if two small ones are put together!

Guilly made 834HP on NOS @ 29 psi. He was making 541HP with only 14 psi. How much HP do you think the 2835 and the 3037's would make on an RX7 cris?

I will tell you very soon who much power two T66 turbos mated to a "full" Peripheral Port 13B will make with 30psi boost very soon

Who needs NOS, when you make peak power at 10000rpm

Does anyone know where you could get a decent price on these turbos? Most places I've seen them are @ Supra shops and they are very expensive. I might have to call up Jason and ask him how much he could get them for. Sounds like a new wave of RX7s are in the process, or are thinking of strapping these puppies on.

I just realized that the cover car for the September Issue of Turbo has the 2835's. Too bad the car hasn't been broken in they didnt have any dyno numbers.

what about 2 apex rx-6 bb turbos??? one of them is good for 450hp and they are using 2 of them on the r34 veilside skyline making 1100hp... i was just looking at them and u can get just the turbo for 1250. but that is just the turbo nothing else.. how much would it cost for the rest of the "stuff" you need to hook up twins??

I dont know if you know the guy that owns the car but the article says hes using the 2835's. I talked to Jason and he said HKS doesnt make a kit for the 7 and that the orange RX7 has the manifolds and such fabricated. He said the turbos cost 1750 apiece and that if they do come out with a kit for the FD it would be about 8000!

can get turbins front pipes and manifold for about $6000. the shop got 580hp at like 18psi. japanese tuner stay below 600hp with factory eccentric shaft. that why such low boost.

Those are sweet numbers. Did they say what the lag was like on those turbos?

I think sokudo is saying that the shop he knows can make the manifolds and such for them. HKS doesnt make a kit but it seems another shop has done some fabrication.
