Help With Install. (GT35R)
Hey, i'm not new to cars, but am new to upgrading a turbo. I am fairly adept at working on cars and do have a good handle on them but do require some info.
I received my kit, but i have no install instructions ( i know its kinda straight forward ). But i want to know where do i mount what lines. Where the oil return line goes etc... If you can supply pics were i can look at where your lines run, and what AN sizes you use (i dont want to use the supplied rubber lines, rather switch to SS). This would be a great help. I've been looking at other threads with thier build ups but there are not that many great pics that follow the lines that are mounted on the turbo. Also if i can get pics of the WG lines and where they go that would be great.
Sorry for the long post.
Thanks
Geby

It starts to get into the lines and fitings on page 2, also alot of the information is also on the third page.... but i suggest you look through all of it.

There are several writeups of GT35R and GT500R (without taking the turbo apart are identicle...well A-Spec's are others are T3). There is also a thread on aftermarket fitings and lines.
If Crispy's thread isn't enough it would help you to post more info and even a picture of your engine bay as well as what brand kit and short or long runner manifold.

The kit i received.
Manifold that came with the kit. T-Pros?? lol
Im not sure which fitting goes where on the turbo.
( i got the coolant inlet and outlet 90 degree fittings on. The side facing the block is facing down, and the one near the chassis is facing up. Is that correct?)
Is this susposed to be blocked off?
Does this look all correct?
I dont know where this block off plate goes? (it was supplied with the kit)

Pics of it being test fitted.
On a side note once again, where can i buy new studs (manifold to block) and nuts.

advanced autoparts has studs for you. just get the one that looks like it is the right size and thats the one(there is only one that looks correct)
is it just me or is the turbine housing really small? what size is it.

Yeah, well I've been pre-mixing her since i got my Microtech ECU, since it does not support the OMP.
Yeah I've seen atihun's setup..not so sure i'd be confident into drilling into my water housing. But im not also confident in the rubber lines i got supplied with...
Here is my progress of today at least.
^ Figured out this oil line
^ Do the coolant lines go in certain places? Like does the top line have to go in the right side? or can i put them wherever?
^ Not sure where the other end of the line goes?

You are making one hell of a very large mistake! Leaving the openings in the top of the lower intake manifold, uncovered.
What will you do if you drop something like a nut down into one of the rotor chambers.
I'll tell you, engine rebuild!

Just FYI I just bought the exact same kit and loved installing it. But like I said, important thing to do, get rid of that plastic yellow stopper on those bango's because they melt onto your manifold and make smoke making you beleive you have a problem in the install. hehe.

again, does it matter which coolant line from the housing goes on the turbo?

Did you send me an email? I will respond to your PM this morning. I have been busy getting caught up on work.
Your coolant lines are hooked up correctly and you need to rotate the turbo over because the oil return needs to point down. Other than that everything else looks good.
For the oil return flange on the block, you just cut the stock peice and slide the hose over it with a clamp.

Doesnt matter which coolant hose goes to which fitting. For the oil drain, call A-spec. They have a beautiful flange that fits on the bottom with an angled nipple that allows the oil hose to slip right on. The oil line with the kit is also to long, so i wound up running it under the upper plenum and ontop of the motor in a "U" to take up the slack, and it works well. I adjusted your pic to show it:

Some more of the fittings close up. You can see the Aspec oil drain fitting on the bottom. The oil feed sits directly on top of the turbo when installed.
Do NOT use a rubber heater hose on the oil drain as shown. I now have a nice blue silicone hose on there from the turbo shop.
Hope these are helping
