H1E slow spooling?

H1E slow spooling?
Guy's I just finally finished doing my single conversion on my stock ported FD3. I went with a H1E 19cm. At the mo I am on a base map on an apexi so I cannot really give it any revs but I took it down the road today up to about 4000rpm and was only just starting to see boost? I was expecting to see like 5psi or so by then? I didn't really get a chance to hold it at 4000rpm for long so maybe it will build a bit more? Just surpised! Does this sound about normal on a stock ported motor. Will it build boost very quickly after this or should I be looking for a smaller exhaust housing?
If smaller housing is the answer what options are there and will they all swap straight on with my existing impeller or will I need to be sure to get the right one?
Thank you
Lee

better keep an eye on your knock.... but the bigger turbos dont spool up until 4000rpm without bigger porting, it should creep up in boost then spool out fast, welcome to the big turbo's

Hi There,
Thanks for the replies. the car is going in for a full map soon.. so hopefully they can take care of any potential knock issues? I pesume you mean because the boost is going to come in quick once it starts spooling? What do we reckon 4500rpm? Or will I be waiting longer than that? Probably going to be running 1.0bar.
I have got a 3.5" system with no CAT at all and just a small back box.
Would it be worth me looking for like a 16cm housing for it or will I then run out of steam at high rpm? That was my original plan but general opinion was it would lack top end?
Cheers

I had the car on the dyno today and it seems I am actually making full boost by about 4000-4200rpm. So that's a bonus.. However the fuel pump couldn't keep up so I think I have been sold a dudd, so need to sort that out before finishing up the map.. But we made 305bhp at the hubs by about 6000rpm before I ran out of fuel.. So that's a good start!
