GT40R vs GR 74 vs R85

Hey guys i wanted to know the differences between these turbos. I know there is already info out there on the R85 and GT40R but what about the Gotham Racing 74 Turbo. They claim that it can make 10psi by 3600rpms. Any specs on what kind of turbo it is. I am looking for a turbo that will make full boost before 4500rpm but will have sick top end. Im trying to run with the big boy (supras,vipers,z06) on the highway and want a turbo that isnt lag crazy but can pull like hell up top. Also for the GT40R kits which store has the best kit. Seems like everyone likes the A-Spec tuning one but i see that rx7store.net also has a gt40r kit.

Correction Gotham Racing also has a GT40R racing kit which is more expensive than the GR 74 yet the GR 74 makes more power???

Damn you guys are quick..... not holding out on anyone. I will be posting more on it in my section later today. Just don't want to get into a vendor pissing match It will offer exactly what he described.

Something tells me you wouldn't be interested, but shoot me PM with your goals for next year, but I think you'll want something different from this.

Just going from experience, the R85 is not laggy for a non ball bearing turbo, I make full 27 lbs by 4500 rpms and it carries through nicely to 8500 rpm's with a nice flat torque curve.

27psi by 4500 on that turbo for non-BB is not bad at all

The best place to get info is from the source. Call 817 788 8726 and ask to speak to steve or alex.

How much boost and what kind of gas? What kind of ports and fuel system are you running? I am hoping for 550-600whp on 27-30 psi and c16.

Just get yourself the GT42R and you'll smoke any of the turbo kits you mentioned. It will spool up to 30psi by 4800rpms and 15psi by 4300ish, depending on porting, timing, etc...You'll have a highway killer.

rxpwr: good luck.

Original thread starter: I would say go with the GT42R like ErnieT stated and be done with it.
