GT4088 turbo kit questions
I was just wondering if anyone on here is running the RX7store's GT4088 turbo kit. I bought it and I'm having some problems because the downpipe does not fit. I can get it in place but it wont sit flush with the V-band on the turbo. At this point i'm pretty aggrevated because it is one of the last things i have left to do and i need to get the new motor broken in before i go to Long Island to get it tuned by Enzo sometime in October. sorry for the rant, but i'm just searching for an answer.

Have you tried putting the downpipe on first, and then connecting it to your midpipe? Mine is a little off where it meets my midpipe, but I also have the Ground Zero oil pan, and that raises my motor up in the engine bay. I may have to take my car to a muffler shop and get them to reweld where the dp meets the mp, so that it will fit. I have no problems so far with my V-band.

how is this turbo on power? How much more power does this make in respect to say the T78, and how much less does it make in respect to the GT42R?

Yeah, that would probably cause a problem with fitment too. Good to know that you've got it figured out and are almost on your way. Let us know how your ride turns out with the GT4088.

Ive seen a streetported car make 560 on c16 and it wasnt laggy at all. He was running pretty high boost though, but i dont recall exactly how much. A great turbo for the price. id go with the .84 back myself.

i was under the impression that it was an 88 mm compressor. Maybe i was wrong. Maybe i'll just grab a gt42r kit add a lil nitrous for anti lag and call it a day...

The 4088R is ball bearing, has a slightly smaller comp inducer (63.5 vs 64.7) and is rated at a bit less hp (400-700 vs 450 to 700).
If we could see the specs on the T-78, we could make a comparison.
Adam, you're not happy with your car? damn man, how big of a turbo do you need

I see, i guess i was misinformed on how to read garrett turbos. lol.
Im very happy with my car, im just always in search of more power I will probably stop my search for more power when i either run 9s, make 600 whp, wreck the car, or buy something different. Im gonna redo my fuel setup over the winter to be able to handle more power. I was also thinking about adding a small 50 shot of spray to the car, just to see how she does. my short term goal is go into the 500s at the wheels. I figure a 50 shot will do the trick, and it will go along nice for spooling a gt42r or something similar when i decide to go bigger
