GT35R: T3 or T4, I知 confused? FD owners please help

I have been looking to buy a GT35R kit for my FD. I have heard good things about the Rx7store kit and like the price. However, I have become confused when looking at the T3 and T4 kits.

I have thought that a T4 should make more power at lower boost setting because it can flow more than its T3 counter part. When I look at the two GT35 options, the T3 is listed as making more power (~425hp @ 15psi) at a lower boost setting. The T4 however, is listed as "around 400hp" @ 17psi (I assume this means like 380hp).

I would normally call and ask Rx7Store but, I am never home during their business hours. Is this advertised correctly or am I wrong about my understanding between a T3 and T4 turbo. I welcome an explanation to correct me if I知 wrong. My goal is 400-425hp so I was hoping some FD owners with these kits could add some insight to which would be appropriate.

I have included the links below for reference:

(T3) http://www.rx7store.net/product_p/gt...%20upgrade.htm

(T4) http://www.rx7store.net/product_p/gt35r%20kit.htm

It is the a/r of the hotside, the T3 listed has a 1.06, the T4 is a smaller .82

Also keep in mind when you are making your decision, the T4 option comes with an Ebay manifold that will warp.

what boost do u plan on running? I dont see it very possible for you to achieve 400 whp at 15 psi with a .82 t4 divided housing.

I plan on running 13-15 psi, or whatever boost i can safely run 94 octane all day long with out any prolbems. I goal is to have 400hp on 94 octane and still keep the FD reliable. I figured the GT35 was my best bet.

Just go with aspec's GT3574 turbo kits i believe its 2399 and it cheaper than the other kits..The manifolds and downpipes are very well constructed and they use the very efficent tiall 44mm wastegate. Also if your order it with a .84 hotside youll see similar response and a great top end. Cant really beat it for the price.

I was told by someone at rx7store that the t4 model has more high power where the t3 model falls off. Also with the t3 model from rx7store the turbo sits alot lower. I have the (t3)gt35r from rx7store. i'm pretty happy with it. spools up very quickly IMO

So the T3 dyno numbers are accurate? 425rwhp @ 15psi is what i am looking for.

and thanks for the heads up on the manaifold.

this is gonna sound dumb but..... i bought the kit as a GT35R with T4 i had it for about a year before a-spec put it in the car. when i brought it in and one of the guys who no longer works there told me it was the 500R kit so i was like oh cool. so for a very long time i was telling people i had a 500r. well a few months ago i get a PM from the guys at a-spec saying you do know its the 35R right ?and yea they did all the porting they did everything and im very happy with what they built for me.

Our T4 GT35R will not make more power than our T3 1.06. The T4 is the fastest spooling single I have seen but will limit you on the top end. If you want a budget turbo with good response and good top end then go with the T04R. Call me for great pricing on that kit. Price is well below anything listed here or on the net.

If you want almost the same quick spool of the T3 GT35R (full boost by 3500-3600 rpm) but need more top end, go with the T4 GT35R with the 1.02 hotside.

can you explain how the T4 is faster spooling than the T3?

im assuming your saying the T3 is 1.06 A/R and the T4 .86?

The T4 is a .82 which spools faster than a 1.06.

We use SS autochrome manifolds for the T4 kit and custom manifold for the T3. There is nothing wrong with the SS manifolds. I have cars here with 15k miles on them with no problems. Many people on the forum use them.

527rwhp 564rwtq @ 24psi by ihavetwins...isn't possible on a 13B. At least I've never heard of a 13B making more torque that horse power and I've been around a good while.

527rwhp and 464rwtq sounds more reasonable. Are you sure about the #'s in your sig?
