GT35R makes 500hp at the wheels on 18psi!

GT35R makes 500hp at the wheels on 18psi!
I never really thought a GT35R could do it, but a local car is doing just that on a run of the mill GT35R A/R1.06. On the same Dynapack dyno and the same boost my car makes 410hp with a TO4R 1.32 which is obviously a **** load laggier.
A few details are as follows:
FD RX7
JC cosmo 13B-RE
guru two piece e-shaft
lightened stock 9.0:1 rotors
ceramic apex seals (not sure which ones)
extend port of some description
modified upper inlet manifold with single throttle body
100 octane leaded avgas
Another really interesting thing is that it's doing it on stock coils with absolutly no breakup. Before the dyno tune parts of the map were really rich like 9-10:1. Surprisingly the ignition system was able to light this. My car starts missing as soon as it dips into the high 10s. The car also runs NGK 115 plugs whereas I run 9's all round. I was under the impression that the super cold 115s would be a bitch to light under boost. Ovbiously not so.
Finally peak hp was occuring at around 7000rpm if I remember right, whereas my car was falls off by early 6000s. Not sure if this has more to do with the porting or the inlet manifold. If only I knew.....

pretty impressive. any idea as to what EMS he's using to run all of that? just curious.
oh and i've always respected the stock coils. as long as they are in tip-top shape (wiring, too) they should hold up at those power levels. you should probably have yours checked as i suspect something is amiss.

Car is running a Motec M4.
Here are two dyno plots comparing the 500hp car (green line) to my car (red line).
Like I said it just keeps on going up to a peak at 7500rpm!
Both cars were running 17-18psi boost although the GT35R hit that earlier as expected. The GT35R made full bosot at 4250rpms (later than I would expect) while my T04R 1.32 made full boost at 5000rpm.
Interesting how my car makes more torque/power between about 5000-6500 but then falls on its face. At I said before I wonder if that's more to do with the inlet manifold or porting.

Can you say porting ...wow nice numbers !
Just from what you wrote it sounds like you hit the sweet spot with that 35r.
If its pulling like that your porting must be very good. I assume a big street port ?

thats very impressive. the porting and those nice ceramic seals with good tuning were the key items im my opinion. ceramic seals can make power on the dyno. less friction and less weight

The 11.5 race plugs are going to perform much better at 18 psi than standard run of the mill 9s.
Those are some pretty damn impressive #s. If my 500R can duplicate that, I'll be as happy as a pig in shiat

very nice #'s... the intake manifold, tuning, porting and turbo play a key role in the good dyno #'s... not sure if the e shaft was nessisary and ive always been weary of the ceramic seals

i'd agree. i think it's the difference in porting that's being illustrated there. get it ported enough to move that 1.32 with more authority and you'll probably see a more prolific torque curve.
