Mr rx-7 tt-

My current setup, 550/1600's, GT35/40, Pineapple Large Streetport, Denso fuel pump. I'm seeing 100% INJ Duty cycle from 8000rpm - 9000rpm @ 17psi. Base fuel pressure is 50psi, (~45psi @ idle). AFR's 11.2 - 11.5. Blitz powermeter after multiple pulls shows consistant 480 - 500rwhp.

Foundation: a solid, built PINEAPPLE engine
Framework: any good turbo (I prefer one that spools before 5000rpm...read: GT35/40 or a Michel modded T-78)
Binding layer: plenty of fuel, air, and spark, up to 20psi
Luck: traction and drivetrain parts that don't disappear

Priceless: 500+RWHP in a sweet FD

I am currently thinking of a GT3540 on my rx3 at the moment. What do u guys think? i want it mainly for street. the only car I have seen with one supposedly hits full boost at 3500rpm. Does that sound right? Coz it is very low.
18PSI on ur cars with only 94 octane? In australia we at least have 98 octane and u dont see many cars with more than 15PSI unless they are running C-16.
everyone here has T04E's or TA45's or T04E/T66 hybrids. I want to be different and not have much lag.

phatdex .................. I think you will find that American 94 MON fuel is better than our Australian 98 RON fuel. They are rated differently and cannot be directly compared with each other with out more information and a good understanding of both octane ratings and fuel characteristics. What kind of RX3 do you have and what sort of power are you looking to make ???

although i am not familiar with the system used for octane in OZ. i do not understand this statemnt you made.
this is my understanding of the US octane
PON= pump octane number. this number is aquired by this formula (RON+MON)/2
RON=research octane number. based on normal driving conditions.
MON= motor octane number. based on higer intake temps.

in OZ, they only use RON?

I thought the US uses

AKI - anti knock index which is (RON+MON)/2

Most countries only use RON for gasoline ratings.

As a thumbnail... most pump fuels AKI = RON - (5 or 6)

I have a '74 12A nose rx3 coupe.
I only have a hi flow at the moment and i am making around 300rwhp @13PSI.
I simply want more, and I heard that the GT3540 will give me around 450-500max while still having a low rpm spool up.
Supposedly around 3500rpm? Since the car is mainly for the street, spool is very important.

What kind of turbo are you using now to get 300hp @ 13psi on your 74 RX-3 12A? (just curious)

I don't know if the GT35/40 can make 450-500 rwhp on a 12A without nitrous. That's asking a lot. Then again I know about 13B and 20B engines, not much about 12As. It just seems unrealistic, unless it's a reinforced engine that is bridgeported running a load of boost.

Well, if your good at math, you can tell me how much power Im putting down. I ran 10.73 @ 128mph running 20lbs of boost on a stock reman. My A/F was 11.2.1, very rich......to be safe. Im not being sarcastic, but what do you think Im putting down if Im running 128mph traps??? I've yet to dyno, still scared I suppose.
11.2, when? I think that is perfect for high rpm/high boost. I wouldn't go leaner. But if you're still at 11.2 in vacuum and mid to high rpm, I agree it's rich. For every 500rpm increment, and range from vacuum to boost, I have a different AFR goal.

Rob @ Pineapple says that a stock block can handle 20psi for a regular diet. Any rebuild or reman, he says won't last as long as the stocker...or his rebuild.

Ernie, I calculate about 500RWHP (what is the weight of the car with driver and fuel?) for that trap.

A little off topic:
Baddog,
Pineapple implied that their motors and stock non-reman motors are stronger than other remans? Did he give any indication why? I've heard that their motors are good.
Thanks,
Don.

Not a 12A engine, 12A nose cone. It is a 13B engine.
I dont know exact specs of my current turbo, just know it is aseries 4 rx7 turbo that has been hi-flowed to i dunno what.
